Head of Product Commercialization

Job Purpose

The Head of Product Commercialisation provides strategic leadership in driving revenue growth through the monetisation of telecommunications infrastructure and digital services. This role is key in shaping and executing commercial strategies that transform network assets-such as fibre connectivity, towers, and data centres-into scalable, value-driven offerings for enterprise, government, and wholesale markets.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and drive strategic plans to commercialise products and services, ensuring sustainable and profitable revenue growth.
  2. Lead the solution management team in analysing market demand and identifying synergies across products and services, both internally and externally.
  3. Design and implement competitive and profitable pricing strategies.
  4. Drive revenue growth by identifying opportunities within existing offerings as well as new business opportunities in the market.
  5. Collaborate closely with Heads of Department to develop and present commercial proposals to senior management.
  6. Strategically package and monetise core infrastructure assets (e.g. fibre, towers, ducts) into compelling solutions for enterprise, wholesale, and government sectors.
  7. Lead cross-functional go-to-market (GTM) initiatives involving product development, marketing, regulatory, legal, and operations teams.
  8. Ensure all product offerings comply with relevant regulatory standards and licensing requirements.
  9. Oversee the full product lifecycle, from ideation and validation to launch, growth, and retirement, aligned with long-term digital strategy.
  10. Drive commercial initiatives in emerging areas such as smart infrastructure, rural broadband, and digital platforms supporting digital inclusion.
  11. Lead commercial negotiations with external partners, vendors, and clients to strengthen market positioning and strategic partnerships.
  12. Establish and monitor key commercial KPIs, revenue targets, and ROI frameworks to measure product performance.
  13. Foster a high-performance, innovation-driven culture within the product commercialisation team.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  2. MBA or Master's degree in Business, Telecommunications, or Technology Management is highly preferred.
  3. Minimum 12-15 years of experience in telecommunications, infrastructure, or digital product environments, with at least 8-10 years in senior leadership roles.
  4. Proven ability to translate technical capabilities into commercially viable, market-ready solutions.
  5. Demonstrated success in launching and scaling telecommunications or infrastructure-based products within B2B and B2G markets.
  6. Strong expertise in business strategy, market analysis, revenue optimisation, stakeholder management, and regulatory compliance.
  7. In-depth knowledge of telecommunications infrastructure, including fibre optics, towers, backhaul, and last-mile technologies.
  8. Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  9. Strong professional values, including accountability, integrity, teamwork, innovation, and a results-driven mindset.
