Job Description

Job Summary:

As Head of Recruitment, you will lead EMAX Group's recruitment strategy and execution, with a primary focus on building a strong and sustainable pipeline of frontline retail talent across all brands and outlet locations.

Your core recruitment portfolio will include beauticians, beauty therapists, sales consultants, outlet managers and other customer-facing retail positions. You will also work closely with EMAX Academy to attract students, trainees, interns and fresh graduates, creating a structured talent pathway from Academy enrolment and training through to employment opportunities within the Group.

Although the position carries the overall title of Head of Recruitment, the immediate priority of the role is high-volume, multi-location retail recruitment rather than corporate or HQ hiring. You will be expected to develop innovative sourcing strategies, strengthen EMAX Group's frontline employer brand, improve recruitment speed and quality, and ensure the business has the workforce required to support outlet operations and future expansion.

You will work closely with Retail Operations, Brand Leaders, Human Resources and EMAX Academy to forecast manpower requirements, develop long-term recruitment pipelines and improve new-hire placement and retention. This is both a strategic and hands-on leadership role for someone who understands the realities of recruiting frontline talent in a fast-moving retail and service environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Recruitment Leadership

  • Develop and lead EMAX Group's overall recruitment strategy, with a primary focus on frontline retail and Academy recruitment.
  • Translate business growth plans, outlet expansion and manpower requirements into practical recruitment plans and hiring priorities.
  • Partner with senior management, HR, Brand Leaders and Retail Operations to ensure the Group has the right talent to support current and future business needs.

Retail and Frontline Recruitment

  • Lead the end-to-end recruitment of beauticians, beauty therapists, sales consultants, outlet managers, retail leaders and other customer-facing positions across all brands.
  • Oversee sourcing, screening, interviewing, selection, offer management and onboarding coordination to ensure vacancies are filled efficiently and with suitable candidates.
  • Develop targeted recruitment strategies for high-volume, urgent or difficult-to-fill positions and outlet locations.
  • Organise and participate in walk-in interviews, recruitment drives, career fairs, open days and other mass-hiring activities.

Workforce Planning and Talent Pipeline Development

  • Work closely with business leaders to forecast manpower requirements based on outlet needs, employee turnover, seasonal demand and expansion plans.
  • Build sustainable talent pipelines for immediate vacancies and future hiring needs across the Group.
  • Develop sourcing channels through job platforms, social media, employee referrals, industry networks, recruitment agencies and community outreach.
  • Establish partnerships with beauty schools, colleges, vocational institutions and relevant organisations to create a continuous flow of potential candidates.

EMAX Academy Recruitment and Graduate Placement

  • Partner with EMAX Academy to develop and execute recruitment strategies for students and trainees.
  • Support Academy enrolment through outreach campaigns, school partnerships, career talks, open days and digital recruitment initiatives.
  • Develop a structured pathway from Academy enrolment and training to internship, graduation and employment opportunities across the Group's brands.
  • Work with the Academy, HR and Retail Operations teams to ensure graduate skills and readiness are aligned with the requirements of the business.
  • Monitor student enrolment, training completion, graduate placement and post-placement retention.

Employer Branding and Recruitment Marketing

  • Strengthen EMAX Group's employer brand and position the company as an employer of choice within the beauty, wellness and retail industries.
  • Develop recruitment marketing campaigns that communicate career opportunities, employee benefits, training programmes and career progression within the Group.
  • Guide recruitment-related content across social media, job platforms, career pages and recruitment events.
  • Work with Marketing and the supporting content team to produce employee testimonials, student success stories, career features and other talent-attraction content.
  • Ensure recruitment and Academy digital platforms are designed to generate quality applications, enquiries and student enrolments.

Candidate Experience and Recruitment Process

  • Champion a professional and engaging candidate experience from the first point of contact through to onboarding.
  • Ensure timely communication, consistent interview standards and an efficient hiring process across all brands and outlets.
  • Review and improve recruitment processes, interview tools, assessment methods and onboarding coordination to reduce candidate drop-off.
  • Work closely with HR and hiring managers to ensure successful placement, onboarding and integration of new employees.

Team and Stakeholder Management

  • Lead, coach and develop the recruitment team, setting clear targets, responsibilities and service standards.
  • Manage and guide the content or social media executives supporting recruitment and Academy attraction initiatives.
  • Build strong working relationships with Retail Operations, Brand Leaders, Outlet Managers, HR, Marketing and EMAX Academy.
  • Provide recruitment advice and market insights to hiring managers while ensuring accountability and timely decision-making throughout the hiring process.

Recruitment Reporting and Continuous Improvement

  • Monitor and report on key recruitment indicators, including vacancy levels, time-to-fill, source effectiveness, interview attendance, offer acceptance and new-hire retention.
  • Maintain accurate recruitment and manpower dashboards for regular management review.
  • Use recruitment data and market insights to improve sourcing strategies, recruitment spending and hiring outcomes.
  • Identify recruitment challenges and implement practical improvements to increase efficiency, scalability and quality of hire.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in recruitment or talent acquisition, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience in high-volume frontline recruitment across multiple retail outlets, locations, or brands, preferably within the beauty and wellness or retail industries.
  • Preferably with a strong track record of recruiting outlet-based employees, including beauticians, beauty therapists, sales consultants, outlet managers, retail leaders, or other customer-facing roles.
  • Proven ability to build, lead, and develop high-performing recruitment teams in fast-paced and growing business environments.
  • Strong knowledge of sourcing strategies, mass recruitment, employer branding, social media recruitment, employee referral programmes, recruitment events, and recruitment technologies or applicant tracking systems.
  • Experience working with academies, colleges, vocational institutions, or education partners to attract students, trainees, interns, and fresh graduates would be an advantage.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior management, Retail Operations, Brand Leaders, HR, Marketing, EMAX Academy, and outlet managers.
  • Data-driven mindset with strong analytical and reporting capabilities, including the ability to monitor recruitment performance, identify hiring gaps, and improve recruitment outcomes.
  • Hands-on, resourceful, and innovative, with a passion for delivering an exceptional experience for candidates and hiring managers.
