Job Description

Role Overview:

We are establishing a next-generation Robotics Innovation Lab focused on developing and commercializing humanoid robotic solutions using existing market humanoid & robotic platforms and modern AI technologies. Our mission is to build real-world systems that augment or automate repetitive human tasks such as receptionist services, customer interaction, object handling, and facility operations.

We are seeking a hands-on Robotics Lead to architect, build, and lead this lab from the ground up. This role combines technical leadership, system architecture, and team management. You will define the technology stack, lead multidisciplinary engineers, and drive the delivery of deployable robotic solutions — not just prototypes.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership & Architecture

• Define the overall robotics system architecture across software, AI, hardware, and infrastructure

• Establish engineering standards, development workflows, and best practices (ROS2, CI/CD, simulation, testing, safety)

• Select and manage core technology stack (ROS2, perception frameworks, simulation, GPU platforms)

• Lead technical design reviews and ensure system reliability, scalability, and maintainability

• Translate research ideas into robust, production-ready systems

Product & Delivery Ownership

• Convert business requirements into technical roadmaps and milestones

• Lead development of humanoid robot capabilities including:

o Navigation and autonomy

o Perception (vision, OCR, depth sensing)

o Manipulation and dexterous handling

o Teleoperation and motion capture integration

o Human-robot interaction workflows

• Drive prototype → pilot → deployment lifecycle

• Ensure on-time delivery of field-ready robotic solutions

Team Building & Management

• Hire, mentor, and manage a multidisciplinary team:

o Robotics Full-Stack Engineers

o Mechatronics/Hardware Engineers

• Assign work, set performance goals, and conduct technical coaching

• Foster a strong engineering culture emphasizing ownership and practical problem-solving

• Coordinate with external vendors and research partners

Lab Operations & Infrastructure

• Establish robotics lab setup including simulation environment, testing rigs, fabrication tools, and safety protocols

• Oversee hardware procurement and asset management

• Implement documentation, version control, and knowledge sharing processes

• Ensure compliance with safety standards when working with humanoid robots

Integration & Deployment

• Guide system integration of software, perception, teleoperation, and hardware

• Support real-world testing and deployments at customer or pilot sites

• Troubleshoot complex cross-domain issues (software + hardware + networking)

• Continuously improve system robustness and maintainability

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or related field

• 6–10+ years of experience in robotics, autonomous systems, or embedded/mechatronic products

• 2–3+ years leading or mentoring engineering teams

Strong hands-on experience with

o ROS2 development

o Python and/or C++

o Linux-based systems

o Real robot integration (not simulation only)

▪ Humanoid, bipedal or collaborative robotics

• Proficient in physics, kinematics, dynamics and control, servo drives and high-performance motor control, lightweight structural design, and system reliability engineering

• Strong system integration and debugging skills across software and hardware

Preferred / Nice to Have

• Experience with humanoid or legged robots (Unitree, Boston Dynamics, etc.)

• Computer vision or AI deployment (PyTorch, OpenCV, edge GPUs)

• Simulation tools (Isaac Sim, Gazebo)

• Motion capture, VR/teleoperation systems

• Rapid prototyping (3D printing, custom hardware builds)

• Startup or innovation lab experience

• Safety-critical or field robotics deployment experience

Leadership & Personal Attributes

• Strong technical ownership and accountability

• Builder mindset — comfortable working hands-on when needed

• Able to balance strategy with day-to-day execution

• Excellent problem-solving and cross-functional communication skills

• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, experimental R&D environment

• Practical and delivery-focused rather than purely research-oriented

What You Will Build

• A greenfield robotics lab with modern tools and infrastructure

• Humanoid robots performing real customer-facing tasks

• AI-driven perception and teleoperation systems

• End-to-end solutions from prototype to commercial deployment

• A high-impact engineering team from the ground up

Why Join Us

• Opportunity to shape and lead a new robotics lab from inception

• Work on cutting-edge humanoid and AI robotics technologies

• High ownership and decision-making authority

• Direct impact on real-world automation and human augmentation

• Competitive compensation and growth opportunities
