Head of Sales & Marketing

Job Purpose

The Head of Sales & Marketing is responsible for leading and managing the sales and marketing functions to drive revenue growth and achieve business targets. This role involves developing strategic plans, setting performance targets, leading high-performing teams, and building strong customer relationships to promote products and services effectively.

This position reports to the Chief Corporate Officer.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and execute overall sales strategies aligned with organisational objectives to drive market share and revenue growth, with full accountability for sales P&L.
  2. Lead sales teams in identifying, prospecting, qualifying, and expanding revenue opportunities.
  3. Build and maintain a high-performing sales organisation with a strong focus on sales excellence, customer-centricity, and operational support.
  4. Identify market opportunities and challenges, and formulate effective sales strategies such as retention plans and targeted campaigns based on customer and market insights.
  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify new revenue streams and improve sales effectiveness and efficiency.
  6. Drive actionable insights to support innovation, communications, and brand growth initiatives.
  7. Develop and implement marketing strategies aligned with product commercialisation plans and overall business goals.
  8. Lead initiatives to strengthen brand awareness and market presence.
  9. Perform any other duties or ad hoc tasks as assigned by management or relevant stakeholders.

Requirements

  1. Proven track record in leading and motivating sales teams, fostering a high-performance and customer-focused culture.
  2. Minimum 15 years of working experience, with at least 10 years in a leadership or management role.
  3. Strong strategic planning and execution capabilities, with experience in developing and implementing effective sales and marketing strategies.
  4. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly both verbally and in writing.
  5. In-depth understanding of market trends, customer behaviour, and competitive dynamics within telecommunications, IT, or technology infrastructure sectors.
  6. Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and creative thinking in sales and marketing initiatives.
  7. Proficiency in data analysis and the use of insights to support decision-making.
  8. Experience in building and managing a strong brand presence in the market.
  9. MBA or other relevant advanced qualifications are an added advantage.
