The Head of Sales is responsible for driving profitable revenue growth, market share expansion, and customer value creation across BlueScope's product and solution portfolio. This role leads the sales organisation, sets commercial strategy aligned with BlueScope's value-based approach, and ensures disciplined execution across pricing, strategic account management, key accounts, channels, and customer experience. The role balances volume, margin, and sustainability, working closely with Supply Chain, Marketing, Finance, and Operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Drive Revenue & Growth
- Accountable for profitable revenue growth, market share expansion, and optimising product mix across key segments.
Lead Sales Strategy & Execution
- Develop and implement go-to-market strategies, sales plans, and channel strategies aligned with overall business objectives.
Own Commercial Performance (P&L)
- Manage sales targets including revenue, margins, pricing, and forecasting while ensuring disciplined performance management.
Manage Key Accounts & Customer Experience
- Oversee strategic customers, strengthen relationships, improve retention, and drive customer satisfaction (e.g., NPS).
Lead & Develop Sales Organisation
- Build and coach a high-performing sales team, set KPIs, develop capabilities, and foster a strong culture of safety and compliance.
Collaborate Cross-Functionally & Ensure Governance
- Work closely with Marketing, Operations, Finance, and Product teams while ensuring compliance, risk management, and sustainability practices.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field.
- 15+ years in commercial roles, including senior leadership positions managing large, geographically dispersed teams.
- Strong B2B background in steel, building materials, industrial manufacturing, or similar heavy industries.
- Proven ability to manage volume–margin trade-offs and drive profitable growth.
- Skilled in pricing strategies, negotiation, contract management, key account management and value-based/solution selling.
- Demonstrated track record of leading and scaling high-performing sales organisations.
