Nexus Global Operator (NGO) is the joint venture entity established by PayNet and NETS to serve as the Nexus Technical Operator, responsible for building, operating and securing the core technology platform for Nexus. Nexus is designed to transform cross-border payments by connecting domestic instant payment systems across markets through a single, standardized platform. This is a rare opportunity to help build critical global payments infrastructure, backed by two national payment infrastructure operators with proven experience in world class real-time payment ecosystems.

What You'll Own
Build & Lead Technology Operations
- Establish and scale end-to-end technology operations for a real-time payment switching platform.
- Design the operating model, governance, SLAs, and KPIs from day one.
- Stand up 24/7 operations capability (NOC, L1-L3 support layers, SRE) in partnership with delivery partners.
- Lead the transition from build phase operational stability scaled operations.
Platform Reliability & Resilience
- Ensure high availability (targeting 99.99% uptime) and strong transaction performance.
- Embed SRE practices, observability, monitoring, and automation frameworks.
- Oversee a hybrid infrastructure environment (cloud + on premises) and ensure scalability across markets.
Incident & Crisis Leadership
- Establish a robust incident management framework and escalation protocols.
- Act as the key leader during critical (P1) incidents, driving structured response and resolution.
- Champion root cause analysis and continuous service improvement culture.
Security, Risk & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and security standards (e.g., PCI-DSS).
- Maintain audit readiness across multiple jurisdictions.
- Partner closely with security teams to strengthen operational risk posture.
Ecosystem & Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, Risk, and Business teams.
- Interface with banks, payment schemes, and regulators across markets.
- Manage and align delivery partners and third-party vendors through build and transition phases.
Strategy & Transformation
- Define and execute the Tech Ops roadmap aligned to platform growth
- Drive modernization initiatives such as cloud adoption, DevOps, and AIOps
- Balance performance, cost optimization, and scalability as the platform evolves
Who You Are
You are a hands-on technology operations leader who thrives in build environments, comfortable operating in ambiguity while setting strong foundations for scale.
What You Bring
- 12–18+ years in technology operations, with leadership experience in mission-critical environments.
- Strong exposure to payments, fintech, or real-time transaction systems.
- Proven track record in high-availability platforms and 24/7 operational setups.
- Experience working in regulated environments or scaling operational capabilities.
You'll Stand Out If You Have Skills/Experience In
- Payment switching and transaction processing experience.
- Distributed / microservices architectures.
- Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Monitoring and observability tools (e.g. Grafana, Splunk).
- DevOps and SRE principles.
- ISO 20022 standards.
