Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director / Head of Test Operations to lead and manage all aspects of semiconductor test manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving operational excellence, productivity, quality, capacity planning, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement across high-volume semiconductor test environments.
This leadership role requires extensive experience in Semiconductor, EMS Manufacturing, OSAT, or Backend Semiconductor Operations, with a strong background in ATE (Automated Test Equipment) operations, manufacturing management, engineering leadership, and customer operations.
The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader capable of managing large-scale manufacturing organizations while delivering operational performance aligned with business objectives and global customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Leadership
- Lead and oversee all semiconductor test operations, ensuring achievement of safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity targets.
- Develop and execute operational strategies to support business growth, capacity expansion, and profitability objectives.
- Manage high-volume and high-mix manufacturing operations across multiple test production lines.
- Drive operational excellence initiatives to improve efficiency, cycle time, equipment utilization, and overall factory performance.
- Ensure manufacturing operations meet customer requirements, quality standards, and regulatory compliance.
Test Manufacturing & Engineering
- Provide leadership for semiconductor test manufacturing, ATE operations, process engineering, and production support teams.
- Optimize test capacity planning, resource allocation, and equipment utilization.
- Collaborate with Engineering teams to drive yield improvement, test cost reduction, and process optimization.
- Support NPI (New Product Introduction), product transfers, and technology ramp activities.
Customer & Business Management
- Serve as a key operational interface with customers regarding production performance, capacity planning, quality, and delivery commitments.
- Drive customer satisfaction through excellent execution and proactive issue resolution.
- Participate in customer audits, reviews, and business development activities as required.
- Align operational capabilities with evolving customer and market requirements.
Manufacturing Excellence
- Lead Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement, and Industry 4.0 initiatives.
- Establish best-in-class manufacturing practices and operational KPIs.
- Drive cost reduction programs while maintaining product quality and delivery performance.
- Develop robust systems for risk management, business continuity, and operational resilience.
People Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop large cross-functional manufacturing and engineering teams.
- Build a strong performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Develop succession planning and leadership development programs for key operational talent.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and highly engaged work environment.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Semiconductor Technology, Manufacturing, or related field.
- Master's degree or MBA is an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 15 to 20 years of experience within:
- Semiconductor industry
- EMS Manufacturing
- OSAT / Backend Semiconductor Operations
- High-volume manufacturing environments
- Minimum 8 to 10 years in senior leadership and operations management roles.
- Demonstrated experience managing:
- Large manufacturing organizations
- Multiple production lines/sites
- High-mix, high-volume manufacturing environments
- Cross-functional engineering and operations teams
