About the Role

At Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP), we're driving transformation and efficiency across our operations — and the Warehouse Department plays a pivotal role in this mission.

We are seeking a highly experienced and driven Head of Warehouse Department to lead our warehouse operations, ensuring excellence in inventory management, stock accuracy, compliance, and logistics performance that directly supports our terminal's world-class efficiency.

This role requires a strategic leader who can combine hands-on warehouse expertise with strong people leadership and process optimization capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Warehouse Operations & Management

  • Oversee end-to-end warehouse operations, ensuring efficient parts issuance, storage, and handling.
  • Maintain stock accuracy through cycle counts, audits, and ERP system validation.
  • Ensure safety, cleanliness, and operational efficiency across all warehouse facilities.
  • Lead Daily Stand-Up (DSU) meetings to review KPIs, performance gaps, and action plans.
  • Drive continuous improvement (CI) initiatives, including inventory clean-up and system enhancements.

Inventory & Compliance

  • Ensure inventory is kept at optimal levels to support operational needs.
  • Monitor and enhance inventory accuracy, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
  • Develop and enforce internal controls to safeguard assets and data integrity.

ERP & Systems Management

  • Lead ERP-related activities (solution definition, testing, and training) to strengthen system performance.
  • Oversee Key User and Superuser readiness, system enhancement mapping, and user acceptance testing.

Leadership & People Development

  • Build a collaborative, performance-driven culture through coaching and mentoring.
  • Develop future leaders and succession plans within the warehouse team.
  • Ensure alignment with company values, HSE standards, and operational excellence principles.

Logistics

  • Manage transport arrangements for parts delivery and collection.
  • Oversee customs clearance, import/export compliance, tax exemptions, and related documentation.

What We're Looking For

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Warehouse Management, Inventory, Procurement, Engineering, or related discipline.

Experience:

  • Minimum 7–10 years of progressive experience in warehouse/inventory management or related fields.
  • Proven success in managing large teams, complex operations, and stakeholder relationships.
  • Experience in ERP implementation and process improvement initiatives.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
  • Deep understanding of warehouse best practices, logistics, and compliance requirements.
  • High proficiency in inventory accuracy control and digital warehouse systems.
  • Strategic thinker with strong business acumen.
