About the Role

As a Health & Safety Officer - Southern, you will be responsible for promoting and maintaining a safe, healthy, and compliant working environment across our Southern Region stores. You will conduct safety inspections, risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety training while ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations. This role requires close collaboration with store management and the ability to drive a strong safety culture across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Health, Safety, Environment and Sustainability support and advisory across retail operations.
  • Conduct risk assessments and recommend practical risk control measures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor H&S improvement plans based on incident trends and operational risks.
  • Lead accident investigations, identify root causes, and drive corrective and preventive actions.
  • Monitor compliance with H&S policies, legal requirements, and company standards through audits and inspections.
  • Prepare and analyze H&S performance reports, incident data, and key metrics.
  • Deliver H&S training and awareness programmed for employees, contractors, tenants, and business partners.
  • Partner with operational leaders to strengthen safety culture and ensure safe work practices are embedded across the business.
  • Support new store developments, projects, and operational initiatives from a Health & Safety perspective.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workplace safety, health, and sustainability performance.

Requirement

  • Degree in Occupational Safety & Health or related discipline, with a valid SHO certification.
  • 1–3 years of experience in Health & Safety, preferably in retail, operations, logistics, or FMCG environments.
  • Good understanding of occupational safety regulations, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
  • Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Willing to travel within the Southern region (Johor, Melaka).
