Job Description

General Job Responsibilities

  • Monitor and enforce environmental protection measures throughout both construction and operational activities, including dust and noise control, wastewater discharge, and scheduled waste management.
  • Ensure compliance with Malaysian environmental laws and regulations throughout the construction and operational phases, and liaise with relevant authorities, including the Department of Environment (DOE), Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH), and other regulatory bodies.
  • Coordinate with project teams, subcontractors, and relevant authorities to ensure the effective implementation of LINERGY's Environmental Management System.
  • Conduct and support environmental inspections and incident investigations, report environmental emergencies, prepare environmental performance reports, implement corrective actions, and ensure timely statutory submissions.
  • Promote environmental awareness and sustainability initiatives across LINERGY.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of the Integrated Management System (IMS), including ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 audits, NCR/CAR closure, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Organize and conduct environmental awareness programmes and training for employees and relevant interested parties.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with DOE officers, maintain the Environmental Mainstreaming Tools (EMT), and ensure compliance with the Environmental Quality Act 1974 and related regulations.
  • Analyze environmental performance data and maintain accurate, objective, traceable, and audit-ready environmental records and documentation.
  • Monitor, enforce, and continuously improve EHS control measures across all operations.
  • Promote a strong and accountable Go Green culture and drive continuous improvement in EHS performance across all departments.
  • Perform any other job relevant duties and responsibilities as assigned by the superior.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in EHS (Environment, Health and Safety) or related disciplines, SHO (Safety and Health Officer) qualification is highly preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of EHS-related work experience; Experience in lithium battery industry safety management or new plant construction is preferred.
  • Possesses keen hazard identification ability and strong execution capabilities; excellent team management skills.
  • Familiar with EHS-related regulations and requirements.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills, willing to communicate, and excellent professional negotiation skills.
