About the Role
Responsible for shaping and driving value-based healthcare strategy. The role integrates clinical expertise, data-driven insights, and strategic thinking to improve health outcomes, optimise costs, and enhance customer value.
The incumbent acts as a bridge between clinical practice, analytics, and business strategy, ensuring that healthcare decisions, product design, and provider partnerships are grounded in evidence, outcomes, and medical best practices.
1. Value-Based Healthcare Strategy Leadership
- Define and drive the organisation's value-based healthcare strategy, focusing on improving clinical outcomes while managing cost of care
- Translate clinical knowledge and insights into strategic priorities, care models, and insurance propositions
- Identify opportunities to shift from fee-for-service to value-based payment models (such as diagnosis-related group payment system), including bundled payments, care pathways, and provider partnerships
- Support decision-making through structured problem framing, trade-offs, and scenario analysis.
- Align healthcare strategy with enterprise goals across growth, claims management, and customer experience
2. Clinical Insights & Outcomes Analytics
- Lead development of clinically meaningful insights, linking utilisation, cost, and health outcomes
- Define value-based KPIs and leading indicators (e.g., readmissions, complication rates, cost per episode, care appropriateness)
- Apply clinical expertise to interpret variations in care, identify gaps in quality, and highlight opportunities for intervention
- Drive advanced analyses on:
- Disease burden and population health trends
- Care pathways and treatment patterns
- Provider performance and variation
- Translate complex concepts, medical evidence, and healthcare insights into simple, accessible, and customer-friendly language for non-clinical audiences, enabling informed decision-making across customers, distribution channels, product teams, and business stakeholders.

3. Business Insights & Performance Management
- Shape the Healthcare Insights agenda linking clinical outcomes, cost drivers, and business performance
- Define enterprise-level performance metrics and dashboards integrating clinical, operational, and financial indicators
- Lead deep-dive analyses to identify drivers of:
- Claims inflation
- High-cost cases
- Suboptimal care pathways
4. Stakeholder Leadership & Influence
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on clinical strategy, healthcare economics, and value-based healthcare strategy transformation
- Bridge communication between clinical teams, actuaries, data scientists, and business leaders
- Communicate complex clinical and analytical concepts clearly and persuasively tailoring messages for diverse audiences ranging from healthcare professionals to customers, agents, and other non-healthcare stakeholders.
- Influence stakeholders to adopt value-based healthcare strategy
5. Capability Building & Thought Leadership
- Coach multidisciplinary teams across analytics, medical, and strategy functions
- Promote a culture of evidence-based decision-making and continuous improvement
