About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and experienced HVAC Engineer (Mandarin Speaker) to join our manufacturing team in Serendah. You will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of HVAC systems to ensure a safe, efficient, and reliable production environment.
As this role involves close collaboration with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders, candidates who are fluent in Mandarin, English, and Bahasa Malaysia are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the operation, maintenance, and optimization of HVAC systems, including:
- Chillers
- Cooling Towers
- AHU (Air Handling Units)
- FCU (Fan Coil Units)
- VRV/VRF Systems
- Split Units
- Ventilation and Exhaust Systems
- Monitor HVAC system performance and ensure optimal energy efficiency.
- Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize equipment downtime.
- Troubleshoot HVAC system failures and implement effective solutions.
- Coordinate with contractors and service providers during installation, maintenance, and repair works.
- Support HVAC system upgrades, modifications, and expansion projects.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
- Prepare maintenance reports, technical documentation, and system performance records.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and reduce operating costs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Production, Facilities, EHS, and Engineering.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in HVAC engineering or facilities maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Hands-on experience with industrial HVAC systems, chillers, cooling towers, AHUs, FCUs, and ventilation systems.
- Good knowledge of preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
- Familiarity with energy-saving initiatives and HVAC optimization is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of HVAC safety standards and engineering best practices.
- Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.
- Fluent in Mandarin, English, and Bahasa Malaysia to communicate effectively with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders.
- Good analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Willing to be based in Serendah, Selangor.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in lithium battery, electronics, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, or other manufacturing industries.
- Knowledge of Cleanroom HVAC systems is an added advantage.
- Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS) or Energy Management Systems (EMS).
- Experience in project management or facility improvement projects is preferred.
