The Solution Engineer is the technical authority for BMC Helix throughout the customer lifecycle. While anchored in pre-sales, this role is accountable for designing solutions that deliver measurable adoption and long-term retention — not just technical wins. Solution Engineers translate customer requirements into BMC Helix architectures, lead technical validation activities, and partner with Customer Adoption Engineers, Value Engineers, and Partner Adoption Engineers to ensure that what is sold is what gets used.
Here is how, through this exciting role, you will contribute to BMC's and your own success:

- Design HelixGPT agent use cases tailored to the customer's environment — including agent scope, data access, guardrails, and integration with customer workflows.
- Lead discovery workshops, demonstrations, technical deep-dives, proofs of value, and proofs of concept.
- Respond to RFx documents and produce technical proposals, solution diagrams, and integration plans.
- Validate feasibility of integrations with the customer's existing toolchain (ServiceNow, Splunk, Datadog, observability stacks, CMDBs).
- Pre-Sales to Post-Sales Continuity
- Document solution intent in a structured handover artifact that the Customer Adoption Engineer (for direct accounts) or Partner Adoption Engineer (for partner-led accounts) and the customer team can execute against.
- Co-own the first 90 days of deployment with the Customer Adoption Engineer to ensure design assumptions hold in production.
- Flag adoption risks during the sales cycle and recommend scope adjustments when required to protect retention.
- Customer and Internal Enablement
- Build reusable demonstration assets, reference architectures, and technical playbooks, including HelixGPT agent patterns.
- Mentor account teams and partners on BMC Helix capabilities, competitive positioning, and emerging features.
- Provide structured product feedback to BMC Product Management based on field observations.
To ensure you're set up for success, you will bring the following skillset & experience:
- Demonstrated expertise in at least two of: ITSM, AIOps, observability, IT operations management, or service automation.
- Working knowledge of generative and agentic AI concepts and their application in enterprise IT contexts.
- Proven ability to lead technical discussions with audiences ranging from administrators to CIO.
- Hands-on proficiency with REST APIs, scripting (Python or PowerShell), and integration patterns.
- Track record of pre-sales engagements that converted to successful production deployments.
