Job Description

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the design, engineering, installation, testing and commissioning of High Voltage electrical systems including 500kV, 275kV, 132kV, 33kV and 11kV systems in compliance with applicable standards, regulations and utility requirements.
  • Review and verify electrical system studies and calculations, including load flow analysis, cable sizing, short circuit calculations, protection coordination, overcurrent and earth fault protection schemes.
  • Manage and execute projects related to TNB transmission and distribution systems, Data Centers, Interconnection Facilities (IF) for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and Large-Scale Solar (LSS) farms.
  • Prepare and review technical documentation including tender documents, technical proposals, drawings, specifications, reports and engineering presentations.
  • Coordinate and liaise with clients, consultants, authorities, utilities and subcontractors throughout project execution.
  • Attend technical meetings, project meetings and engineering presentations with clients and authorities including TNB.
  • Conduct site visits, inspections and audits to monitor construction progress, quality of work and compliance with safety and technical standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical and engineering issues related to electrical systems and project implementation.
  • Oversee installation works, testing and commissioning activities to ensure compliance with design specifications and project requirements.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and project teams.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in High Voltage electrical engineering works.
  • Strong knowledge in HV systems including substations, switchgear, transformers, protection systems, HV cabling and transmission/distribution systems.
  • Experience in High Voltage testing and commissioning.
  • Familiar with MS, IEC, TNB and Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST) standards and requirements.
  • Able to read, interpret and prepare electrical drawings, single line diagrams and technical reports.
  • Good leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work independently and lead engineering and site teams.
  • Willing to travel and work extended hours when required by project schedule.
