Homologation Engineer (Automotive)

Responsibilities

• Identify and track regulatory requirements across ASEAN markets, including market entry and compliance standards
• Monitor regulatory updates, government portals, and industry developments relevant to product compliance
• Interpret technical regulations and support compliance assessments for product development
• Maintain and update a regulatory database for internal reference
• Compile technical requirements for regional markets to support product planning
• Support homologation activities, including testing coordination and certification processes
• Ensure compliance processes from importation to product registration are properly managed
• Act as a key liaison with government bodies, regulatory authorities, and industry associations
• Assess the impact of new policies and standards on future product development
• Provide internal training on regulatory requirements and compliance procedures
• Support cross-functional teams on compliance-related matters

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• 3–5 years of experience in homologation, regulatory, or compliance roles (automotive industry preferred)
• Good understanding of ASEAN regulations and technical standards
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities
• Experience working across cross-functional teams
• Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia
