Job Summary
The HR & Administration Manager is responsible for leading and transforming the HR and Administration functions at the Johor site. This role goes beyond operational execution and serves as a strategic partner to site leadership, driving organisational effectiveness, workforce optimisation, compliance governance, and continuous improvement initiatives aligned with regional direction.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee full-spectrum HR operations including employee lifecycle management, payroll coordination, benefits administration, HRIS governance, and data integrity.
- Lead and manage site administrative functions including office operations, vendor management, office facilities coordination, cost control, and operational support services.
- Lead all Industrial Relations (IR) matters including disciplinary actions, domestic inquiries, misconduct cases, terminations, and representation at labour authorities where required.
- Ensure compliance with Malaysian labour laws, statutory requirements, and immigration regulations, including expatriate employment and work pass administration.
- Drive performance management processes and ensure defensible documentation standards aligned with sound IR practices.
- Partner with Site GM and department heads on strategic manpower planning, headcount optimisation, workforce cost control, and talent management.
- Lead recruitment strategies for both operational and professional roles in a competitive labour market.
- Work closely with Safety, EHS, and RBA teams to ensure compliance with labour standards, workplace safety regulations, and audit requirements.
- Support ISO 9001, RBA, and internal audits by ensuring proper HR documentation, SOP compliance, and governance controls.
- Lead and develop the Johor HR & Admin team while aligning HR processes and policies with Division HRMs and Regional HR standards.
- Plan and oversee company events and employee engagement initiatives to promote a positive and cohesive workplace culture.
- Perform any other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the Regional HR & Admin Manager, SEA.
Requirements
- Diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- With 8 years of HR experience with at least 5 years in a supervisory capacity, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong Industrial Relations experience with hands-on exposure to labour authorities and domestic inquiry processes.
- Sound knowledge of Malaysian labour laws and statutory requirements.
- Experience in expatriate management and immigration processes.
- Strong problem-solving skills with ability to influence stakeholders and drive change.
- High integrity, strong documentation standards, and risk management mindset.
