Job Description

This role is ideal for an early career payroll professional who is keen to build a strong payroll foundation primarily supporting Malaysia gaining exposure to payroll processes and statutory compliance.

You will support end-to-end payroll administration activities, maintain accurate employee data, and work closely with senior payroll team members to ensure payroll accuracy, compliance and timely delivery.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Payroll & Employee Data Administration

  • Maintain accurate and up to date employee master data across payroll and HR system
  • Process employee lifecycle changes including new hires, leavers, salary changes and employee movements
  • Update and reconcile employee leave and absence records in line with policy

Payroll Support & Reporting

  • Support monthly payroll processing activities, including pre and post payroll checks
  • Prepare and circulate payroll related reports such as headcount, movement and variance reporting
  • Assist with payroll reconciliations and data validation to ensure accuracy and audit readiness

Statutory & Compliance Support

  • Support Malaysia statutory requirements including income tax, EPF, SOCSO and EIS reporting
  • Assist with year‑end activities such as tax filings and statutory reporting where required

Documentation & Administration

  • Prepare employee related documents such as contracts, offer letters and employment confirmation
  • Maintain employee personnel records in line with internal governance and data privacy requirements

Process Improvement & Projects

  • Assist with internal payroll projects including system enhancements, process improvements and audit reviews
  • Support regional payroll initiatives and provide administrative coverage across the team as required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Diploma / Associate Degree or above in Accounting, Finance, Business, Human Resources or related discipline
  • 1–2 years of experience in payroll, HR operations or finance administration preferred
  • Fresh graduates with relevant internships or strong interest in payroll will also be considered
  • Proficiency in English is essential, strong advantage in Mandarin and/or Cantonese capabilities
  • Confident using Microsoft Excel and Word; prior payroll system exposure is an advantage
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable working in a regional team environment
