Job Description

Our client is a fast-growing financial services firm with a strong presence across Asia, providing innovative solutions to institutional clients. Operating in a dynamic and fast-evolving market, the company has built a strong reputation for trust and reliability among its regional and institutional partners. Due to continued growth, they are looking to strengthen their HR function in Malaysia.

Role Overview

This is an individual contributor HR role supporting People Operations and Talent Management across Malaysia and Singapore. The role covers full-spectrum HR generalist responsibilities, from payroll validation and employee lifecycle management to talent management and compliance, within a lean, tightly knit team environment.

The successful candidate will act as a key HR operations lead, ensuring smooth and accurate execution of payroll, HR processes, and talent initiatives while supporting the broader HR and organisational priorities of a growing business.

Key Responsibilities:

Payroll (Checker)

  • Validate monthly payroll inputs including new hires, exits, bonuses, and reimbursements
  • Coordinate with payroll vendor to ensure timely and error-free payroll processing
  • Provide a supporting role for the global payroll process

People Operations

  • Work internally to manage the full employee lifecycle effectively
  • Maintain and update HR tools & systems

Talent Management

  • Support initiatives to boost employee engagement, development, and retention
  • Support performance review cycles, feedback initiatives, and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with labor regulations
  • Undertake other ad hoc duties and responsibilities as required by the team, in support of broader HR and organizational priorities

Key Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in Human Resources or Business Management
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in People Operations, with a strong focus on payroll
  • Strong understanding of Employment Law in Malaysia and Singapore
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong numerical aptitude, attention to detail, and ability to manage confidential information
  • Exposure to multi-country or global people operations would be advantageous
  • Candidates with a background in non-traditional industries (e.g. technology, fintech, professional services) are preferred, given the nature of the business
