About the Role

Responsible to lead and deliver the overall HR services, particularly in Payroll & Benefits services across the APAC countries under the Regional Shared Services Centre, focus on the internal client which includes managing critical service issues to resolution, liaising with countries HR Business Partners to ensure services meet required standards (inclusive of third party suppliers) and the ability to align to the business strategy in different countries within the SGS APAC region and imperatives to ensure the service delivery is in line with the requirements and expectations under the Service Level Agreement (SLAs).

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Payroll & Benefits functions / areas in the HR Shared Service Centre to ensure quality and efficiency of the services in line with the Service Level Agreement (SLAs) and fully comply to the related standard & legislation.
  • Accountable for the timely delivery of the Payroll & Benefits services and processes, including Payroll, Compensation & Benefits, Employee Welfare, HRIS, as well as day-to-day liaison with different stakeholders in APAC countries.
  • Establish and standardize work procedures and best practice across different countries to improve the efficiency of the shared service team.
  • Ensure the necessary interface and infrastructures are in place to facilitate the services offer to the countries.
  • Continuous strike for zero error target in achieving the Centre of Excellence in HR deliveries.
  • Ensure the governance of the service operations, including managing the budget, schedule expenditures and cost effective measurements of the shared services.
  • Carry out necessary standard and process audit to ensure the compliance and alignment of the HR practices across different countries legal requirements.
  • Manage the shared service team and develop a high performance culture within the service centre.
  • Analyse variances in operations and initiate gap / cost reduction as appropriate.
  • Continue develop, implement and drive the new initiatives in HR services, including of process improvement, automation, resource management.
  • Prepare activity, budget and performance activities reports to the management.
  • Adherence to SGS Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Policy by uphold a good safety behavior and exercising necessary standard and process when carry out your responsibilities at all times to ensure compliance to the HSE requirements.
  • Perform any other responsibilities as assigned by your reporting manager and/or Senior Management.

    Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Degree in Human Resources, Economics, Business Administration or equivalent.
    • Minimum 5 years experience in full spectrum of human resources, preferable with at least 2 years in supervisory roles in HR shared services environment.
    • Hands-on experience in payroll processing for headcount more than 1000 covering multiple countries.
    • Experienced in dealing with diversified business and managing various levels of stakeholders in a MNC environment.
    • Familiar with the latest update in ISO9001 or relevant standard, as well as the Labour Law in multiple countries in APAC region, particularly in Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, etc.
    • Knowledge in using computer/MS Office is a prerequisite, and exposure to HRIS (particularly in Workday, Dayforce / Ascender, Technosoft & SmartRecruiter) and process automation (such as Power Automate, Copilot Studio, RPA) is an added advantage.
    • Applicants must based in Shah Alam, Selangor and willing to travel occasionally.
    • Good command of English & Bahasa Malaysia both written and communication. Mandarin Speaker is added advantage.
    • Strong analytical and problem solving skill.
