HRBP Assistant Manager & IR Specialist

We Elevate... Your Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for addressing all Industrial Relations (IR) matters and cases.
  • Drive IR Roadshow initiatives to educate line managers on basic IR skills.
  • Provide timely IR advice to Heads of Departments (HODs) and Line Managers.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, statutory requirements, and company policies and procedures across all Business Units and Townships.
  • Establish policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) relating to IR.
  • Conduct IR workshops and roadshows for non-HR/IR practitioners within the company.
  • Advise and ensure proper documentation for conciliation purposes at the IR office, representing the company during the conciliation stage, and attending the IR Court when required.
  • Lead discussions during the conciliation stage at the IR department on behalf of the company.
  • Collaborate closely with the appointed legal representative/firm at the Industrial Court while representing the company.
  • Manage, lead, and facilitate all reported grievance matters within the company, including sexual harassment claims.
  • Take charge of investigations involving relevant parties upon receipt of complaints regarding alleged misconduct or wrongdoing.
  • Act as the Prosecuting Officer during Domestic Inquiries.
  • Provide guidance to management on recommending appropriate disciplinary actions based on the severity of proven misconduct or wrongdoing.
  • Coordinate Performance management process with Business
  • Lead and facilitate the Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) process, including conducting PIP briefings for all affected Line Managers.
  • Provide guidance and advice to Line Managers throughout the PIP period.
  • Offer advice to Management in cases of termination resulting from poor performance.
  • Handle and resolve people-related business matters involving unionized employees through productive discussions with the National Union of Commercial Workers (NUCW).
  • Prepare an initial draft or proposal paper for collective bargaining negotiations.
  • Collaborate with relevant departments to ensure compliance requirements are integrated into business processes and practices.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees on compliance-related matters, including training programs and workshops.
  • Investigate and address compliance issues, violations, and complaints promptly and effectively.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive compliance records, reports, and documentation.
  • Conduct internal audits and reviews to assess compliance levels and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop, drive and implement employee life cycle processes eg recruitment, onboarding through to exit of employees
  • To design and implement best in class recruitment strategies to attract best talent
  • To design and implement engagement strategies to retain best talent.
  • To execute all engagement program to drive satisfaction

We Elevate... Your Best Self

  • Bachelor Degree in HR or business administration
  • Minimum 5-6 years of HR experience in HRBP and IR matters (full suite)
  • Well verse with recruitment assessment tools
  • Proficient in Microsoft office, Word, Excel and Power point
  • Familiar with skip level methodology
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (English and BM)
  • Ability to work at senior level, handling conflict needs and demand
  • Good time management, prioritization and organizing skills, sound business acumen
  • Experienced change manager to transform HR capabilities in team and business expectations of HR on site
  • Full generalist HR capabilities at both operational and strategic level
  • Good presentations, facilitation and people management skills
  • Well verse with Malaysia Employment legislation
  • Ability to negotiate with Union for collective agreement
