Key Responsibilities:
- Advise employers, site managers, and responsible personnel on necessary measures to ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and health regulations based on applicable legal requirements.
- Act as a subject matter expert on safety related matters, addressing inquiries and providing clarity on internal OSCP's/SOP's or regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Support management in conducting and coordinating multi-layer workplace inspections to evaluate machinery, equipment, substances, and processes for potential risks of bodily injury or negative environmental impact.
- Establish and guide the Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Committee in organizing and implementing Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) programs, conducting site inspections, and ensuring effective communication with relevant government authorities on HSE matters (e.g., Bomba, DOSH, DOE, MPPP, NIOSH, JKJR).
- Provide sufficient and comprehensive guidance to the respective site leaders, or contractors to ensure all the requirements pertaining to the risk assessment is met which includes HIRARC reviews and Permit to Work (PTW) compliance.
- Facilitate comprehensive safety training programs, including inductions, toolbox talks, and Material Handling Equipment (MHE) trainings. Utilize appropriate communication channels such as safety alerts, posters, emails, and intranet platforms to regularly share safety updates, reminders, or success stories.
- Collaborates with the Site Management team to promptly investigate workplace incidents, accidents, or near misses, documenting details and conducting thorough root cause analyses.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Registered OSH Coordinator.
- Registered Safety & Health Officer and certified internal auditor for OHS Management System & Environmental Management System are an added advantage.
- Minimum 2 years in HSE functions or equivalent with proven track record.
- Posses good understand and knowledge on HSE regulatory/ legal compliance in Malaysia is an advantage.
- Well-versed with the MHEs operation in technical knowledge.
- Have a good facility and equipment maintenance background.
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office to analyze data, produce reports and deliver presentations.
