The HR Business Partner (Junior) is responsible for managing the full spectrum of HR functions for the retail business, serving as a key liaison between leadership, HR, and retail teams. Key responsibilities include end-to-end recruitment, payroll management, employee lifecycle processes, and ensuring compliance with local labour laws. The role also encompasses HR reporting and analysis, budget preparation, talent development, and employee engagement. The ideal candidate will provide coaching, support HR transformation projects, and address employee relations matters across the retail organisation.

Job Description

  • Responsible for the full spectrum of HR practices for the retail business in which includes: full employment cycle, career development, employee relationship.
  • As a member of the business unit, he/she will act as a liaison for the leadership team, HR team and retail team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process.
  • Oversee and manage the payroll process for the organization, ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing.
  • Responsible to manage various Human Resources policies, procedures, and complete employee lifecycle processes in accordance with laws, standards and government regulations for the retail teams in .
  • Support on Retail personnel reports and analysis on Headcount, recruitment status, KPIs (turnover, productivity, bonus rate, payroll HC, etc.) and propose action plan
  • Ensuring compliance of local labour laws and advisories
  • Support HR projects/ transformation in the region.
  • Preparation of HR budget and quarterly review
  • Partners with commercial team in address retail employee HR issues
  • Acting as a point of contact for employees and cross-functional team to go to for HR related matters.
  • Provide coaching and career development support, as appropriate, in partnership with Retail Management
  • Manage talent attraction, recruitment and on-boarding for retail staff.
  • Manage offboarding and schedule / conduct exit interviews and analyse data and make recommendations for continuous improvement and corrective measures
  • Support in all teammate engagement activities and recognition programs for the retail team

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in HR or related field
  • At least 3 years of HR experience including strong Business Partnering in fast pace environment
  • Well versed with Employment Act in Malaysia .
  • Excellent verbal & written communication as well as interpersonal skills
  • Self-initiated, collaborative, able to work independently with strong organizational skills
  • Ready to spend time on the ground with store employees
