Role Description This full-time, on-site Human Resources Business Partner role is based in Perak, Malaysia. The HR Business Partner will collaborate closely with business leaders and store management to align HR strategies with operational goals, providing guidance on workforce planning, talent development, and organizational effectiveness. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing employee relations, advising on HR policies and procedures, and ensuring compliance with local labor and employment regulations. The role will oversee performance management processes, support coaching and feedback initiatives, and drive engagement and retention activities across assigned business units. The HR Business Partner will also partner with central HR teams on recruitment, onboarding, training, and change management, contributing to a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture.
Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of Human Resources (HR) principles and practices, with experience partnering directly with business leaders.
  • Ability to develop, implement, and interpret HR Policies that support business objectives and promote a fair, consistent work environment.
  • Expertise in Employee Relations, including handling inquiries, resolving conflicts, and supporting a respectful, inclusive workplace.
  • Working understanding of Labor and Employment Law in Malaysia, ensuring HR activities comply with all relevant regulations.
  • Experience in Performance Management, including goal setting, appraisal processes, and coaching for development.
  • Relevant bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong communication, consultation, and influencing skills, with the ability to build trust across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, analyze HR data, and provide actionable insights to support decision making.
  • Experience in retail or fast-paced multi-site environments is an advantage.
  • Commitment to ethical practices, confidentiality, and fostering a gender-neutral, non-discriminatory culture.
