Job Description

Position: Human Resources Manager (Hospitality, Tourism & Attractions)

Industry: Tourism, Hospitality & Visitor Attractions

Working Duration: 12 months contract (Renewable based on performance)

Working Location: Merdeka 118, Jalan Hang Jebat, 50118 Kuala Lumpur

Working Day/Hours: Monday - Friday; 8:30AM - 5:30PM

Salary: Basic up to RM9,000 (Based on experience + skills) with statutory contribution + medical insurance + leave entitlement

Position Summary

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for leading and managing all Human Resources functions for company. This role serves as a strategic business partner to management by ensuring effective workforce planning, talent acquisition, employee engagement, performance management, payroll administration, compliance, and organizational development initiatives.

The incumbent plays a critical role in supporting business growth, operational efficiency, and exceptional Guest experiences through the development and implementation of people strategies aligned with organizational objectives. The role requires strong leadership capabilities, sound knowledge of labour laws, and the ability to manage a dynamic and high-volume workforce environment.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Human Resource Management

  • Develop and execute HR strategies that support organizational goals and operational requirements.
  • Partner with department heads to identify workforce needs and develop sustainable manpower plans.
  • Provide HR advisory support to management on organizational effectiveness, workforce optimization, and employee matters.
  • Support business planning through workforce analytics and human capital insights.

Manpower Planning and Workforce Management

  • Develop and maintain manpower plans to meet operational demands and business objectives.
  • Monitor staffing levels, productivity, overtime utilization, and workforce deployment.
  • Coordinate workforce requirements during pre-opening, expansion, and operational stabilization phases.
  • Ensure workforce planning remains aligned with approved budgets and business forecasts.

Recruitment and Talent Acquisition

  • Lead end-to-end recruitment activities for operational, supervisory, and management positions.
  • Develop sourcing strategies to attract high-quality talent.
  • Manage recruitment agencies, job portals, educational institutions, and external talent pipelines.
  • Ensure efficient onboarding and induction processes for new employees.

Employee Relations and Engagement

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters.
  • Manage disciplinary cases, grievances, investigations, and conflict resolution.
  • Foster a positive workplace culture focused on teamwork, service excellence, and employee well-being.
  • Lead employee engagement programs, recognition initiatives, and internal communication activities.

Performance Management and Learning Development

  • Oversee annual performance appraisal cycles and probation review processes.
  • Coordinate learning and development initiatives to address competency and operational requirements.
  • Identify training needs and support career development opportunities.
  • Monitor training compliance and maintain employee competency records.

Payroll and Human Resource Administration

  • Coordinate payroll inputs including attendance, overtime, allowances, and leave administration.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
  • Administer employee benefits and statutory requirements.
  • Support payroll audits and ensure compliance with company policies.

Compliance and Industrial Relations

  • Ensure compliance with labour legislation and statutory requirements.
  • Maintain and update HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook documentation.
  • Support regulatory audits, inspections, and investigations.
  • Identify organizational HR risks and implement mitigation measures.

HR Systems and Reporting

  • Manage HRMS, attendance systems, and workforce management platforms.
  • Ensure data integrity, system efficiency, and process improvements.
  • Prepare HR reports covering headcount, turnover, absenteeism, manpower costs, and productivity.
  • Present workforce insights and recommendations to senior management.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

The Human Resources Manager will be measured on:

  • Achievement of approved manpower plans

  • Payroll accuracy and timeliness

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related discipline.
  • Certified Human Resources Professional.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant HR experience.

Preferred

  • Master's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Experience within hospitality, tourism, attractions, retail, or service-oriented industries.
  • Experience managing large frontline and shift-based workforces.
  • Previous HR leadership experience in theme parks, visitor attractions, or entertainment environments.
