IBM Mainframe Infra z/OS System Administrator

Job Scope:

- Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade IBM z/OS operating systems and related system software.

- Perform IPL, system customization, and parameter tuning to ensure optimal system performance and stability.

- Manage SMP/E for software installation, maintenance, and patching.

- Monitor system performance using tools such as RMF, SMF, and OMEGAMON, and implement tuning recommendations.

- Manage datasets, catalogs, storage (DASD), and capacity planning.

- Handle system-level problem determination, root cause analysis, and resolution of z/OS incidents.

- Support disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity (BCP) planning, testing, and execution.

- Coordinate mainframe infrastructure changes in accordance with change management processes.

- Security: RACF, MFA, security auditing, and compliance

- Subsystems: JES2/JES3, CICS, DB2, IMS, TCP/IP

- Tools: SMP/E, RMF, SMF, OMEGAMON

- Scripting: JCL, REXX, CLIST

- Processes: ITIL, Change Management, DR/BCP

Experience Level:

- Mid-Level: Minimum 5 years in z/OS system and RACF administration.
