Job Title: IE Engineer

Work Location: Rawang, Selangor

About the Role

The IE Cost Management Engineer acts as the key coordination interface for all Manufacturing Unit (MU) cost activities. This role supports the factory's annual operational targets through Capex planning, manufacturing cost optimization, ROI calculation, and closed-loop management of investment projects as well as assess whether production resources are sufficient, promptly address resource shortages, ensure production resources are in place for the responsible area; assist in executing 531 planning projects; monitor and analyze from perspectives of UPPM/capacity enhancement/cost improvement, plan and drive improvement projects in an organized manner

You will be deeply involved in how the plant spends, invests, and improves ensuring every ringgit creates real operational impact.

Key Responsibilities

1. Annual Capex Planning & Cost Coordination

  • Integrate, review, and manage MU annual Capex requirements
  • Support operational target planning with accurate cost forecasting
  • Coordinate with production, engineering, and finance teams for Capex alignment

2. Investment & Project ROI Management

  • Track, monitor, and implement closed-loop control for all MU investment projects
  • Verify investment effectiveness, savings realization, and project benefit closure
  • Calculate ROI and prepare structured justifications for investment decisions

3. Operational Cost & MOH Optimization

  • Lead cost analysis and improvement activities for MU manufacturing cost and MOH
  • Identify cost-down opportunities across manpower, materials, equipment, and processes
  • Guide MU teams on cost improvement actions and monitor progress

4. Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Consolidate and analyze cost, Capex, and performance data for management review
  • Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations for monthly and quarterly reviews
  • Ensure accuracy of data collection according to manufacturing cost management rules

5. Capacity Planning and Realization

  • Based on regional annual capacity targets, implement resource allocation plans.
  • Analyze regional capacity achievement, follow up and handle production line abnormalities.

6. Resource Coordination and Cross-functional Oversight

  • Provide resource warnings and coordination based on PMC plans and production line resource conditions to meet production demands.
  • Collect foundational data and improve departmental databases.
  • Rationally allocate resources across functions to ensure maximum resource utilization.

7. KPI Achievement and Improvement

  • Participate in Win-win team to formulate and implement KPI achievement measures based on KPI targets.
  • Provide early warnings for KPI achievement risks in the Win-win team, develop and participate in improvement projects.

8. Productivity Enhancement and Improvement Project Promotion

  • Participate in setting key equipment parameter targets and monitoring, follow up on new process and equipment introductions to drive productivity improvement.
  • Lead on-site improvement initiatives within the region based on departmental annual plans to reduce manufacturing costs.
  • Implement improvement tasks assigned by team leader, conduct independent improvement projects, actively participate in improvement activities from other departments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields
  • Minimum 3 year of experience in IE, production cost analysis, Capex coordination, or factory operations support
  • Production line layout design and optimization
  • Production site operation improvement, including capacity enhancement, cost savings, efficiency improvement
  • Lean improvement projects, including value stream, standardized work, pull production, etc.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing cost structure, MOH, Capex planning, and ROI principles
  • Experience in cost improvement projects is an advantage
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin is required due to the need for communication with Chinese counterparts and stakeholders

Skills & Competencies

Strong analytical ability and excellent data accuracy

Proficient in Excel for large-scale data processing and cost modeling

Able to prepare clear reports and presentations using PowerPoint

Good communication and cross-functional coordination skills

High responsibility, strong follow-through, and ability to work under pressure

English writing and reading proficiency; basic verbal communication ability
