Job Summary
The Manager, Industrial Relations is responsible for managing and maintaining harmonious industrial relations between the company, employees and relevant authorities. This role ensures full compliance with labour laws, handles disciplinary and grievance matters, represents the company in industrial disputes, and supports management in employee relations strategies.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Law, Industrial Relations, or a related field.
Minimum 58 years of experience in Industrial Relations or Employee Relations, preferably in a managerial role.
Strong knowledge of Malaysian labour laws, Employment Act, Industrial Relations Act, and disciplinary procedures.
Experience handling domestic inquiries, union matters, and industrial disputes.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
Ability to work independently, manage sensitive cases, and maintain confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
Industrial Relations & Compliance
Manage industrial relations matters in compliance with Malaysian labour laws and regulations.
Advise management on IR-related issues, policies, and best practices.
Ensure company policies, SOPs, and disciplinary procedures comply with Employment Act and relevant regulations.
Disciplinary & Grievance Management
Oversee and manage disciplinary cases, domestic inquiries, and grievance handling.
Prepare investigation reports, show-cause letters, and disciplinary action documentation.
Ensure fair, consistent, and timely resolution of employee relations issues.
Employee Relations Strategy
Develop and implement IR strategies to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
Provide guidance to managers and supervisors on handling employee relations issues.
Conduct IR-related training for management and HR team when required.
Reporting & Documentation
Prepare IR reports, case summaries, and documentation for management review.
Maintain proper records of all IR cases, disputes, and resolutions.
