Role Description
This is a contract role for an Information Technology Administrator. The IT Administrator will be responsible for providing technical support, network and system administration, and troubleshooting services. This is an on-site role located in Cyberjaya, Malaysia.
IT Helpdesk
- Serve as the first point of contact for employees seeking technical assistance over phone/email
- Troubleshoot IT issues relating to computer hardware, software, internet connectivity, printers/scanners etc.
- Diagnose and resolve common technology problems in a timely and accurate manner
- Walk users through problem-solving steps as needed
- Log and track IT tickets in helpdesk system and monitor through resolution
Server Administration
- Install, configure, and maintain servers including web, file, email, print, and other servers
- Perform server upgrades, patches, and other updates as needed
- Monitor server health metrics such as utilization, failed login attempts, bandwidth etc.
- Ensure high availability and functionality of all servers
- Configure and manage permissions, access controls, libraries etc.
Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain detailed documentation and procedures for IT systems and network
- Create how-to guides and FAQs to aid employees with common technology issues
- Develop reports and dashboards on technology performance, tickets, issues etc.
- Make recommendations for IT improvements based on metrics and data
Troubleshooting IT Incidents
- Investigate and troubleshoot IT outages or performance problems
- Conduct root cause analysis for recurring network/system issues
- Coordinate with vendors/repair centers for hardware repair and replacement
- Automate fixes for widespread problems when possible
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science or related field
- 2+ years experience as an IT administrator or relevant role
- Expertise supporting common OS, software and other technologies in use
- Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, Active Directory, VPNs, firewalls etc
- Strong problem diagnosis, time management and communication skills
- Technical Support and Troubleshooting skills
- Network and System Administration skills
- Knowledge of Information Technology and related software and hardware systems
- Experience with digital certificates and public key infrastructure is a plus
