Role Overview
We are seeking a Project Manager to lead the implementation of a payroll system, working closely with smaller vendors and internal stakeholders. The role is hands-on and delivery-focused, with a target go-live in September/October 2026. This position requires strong vendor coordination skills and the ability to manage challenges during implementation under a Waterfall delivery model.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end payroll system implementation using Waterfall methodology
- Coordinate and manage delivery with smaller / niche vendors
- Act as the primary point of contact between business users, IT, and vendors
- Identify, track, and resolve project risks, issues, and dependencies
- Manage project plans, milestones, timelines, and documentation
- Drive UAT, cutover planning, and go-live readiness
- Escalate vendor or delivery challenges proactively to ensure project continuity
- Ensure onsite engagement with stakeholders during critical project phases
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Project Manager in system implementation projects
- Prior experience implementing payroll systems
- Strong experience working with external vendors, including managing delivery challenges
- Solid understanding and hands-on application of Waterfall project methodology
- Ability to work in a hybrid environment (minimum 3 days onsite per week)
- Must be based in Malaysia
Work Arrangement
- Hybrid model: 3 days onsite, 2 days WFH
- Location: Kuala Lumpur (ILHAM Tower)
