Role Purpose -
The IT & Technical Support Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient, secure, and reliable operation of the organisations IT environment. This role is responsible for managing IT assets, endpoints, and user access, as well as providing technical and application support for internal systems and enterprise applications.
Responsibilities we entrust you with -
IT Asset Management
- Maintain a comprehensive and up-to-date inventory of IT hardware and software assets.
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of IT assets, from procurement to retirement, ensuring compliance with licensing and security protocols.
- Manage asset tracking systems to improve operational efficiency.
IT Endpoint Management
- Administer and support endpoint devices (e.g., desktops, laptops, mobile devices) across the organization.
- Implement and enforce endpoint security policies, deploying updates, patches, and antivirus protection.
- Provide troubleshooting and technical support for hardware, software, and peripheral devices.
User Access Management:
- Oversee the administration of user access control, including provisioning, de-provisioning, and role-based access through platforms such as Google Workspace and other SaaS applications. 1 IT & Technical Support Engineer
- Conduct regular audits of user permissions to ensure adherence to security policies and compliance requirements.
- Implement and maintain the integration of single sign-on (SSO) and multi factor authentication (MFA) solutions over all of our applications
Technical & Application Support
- Provide tiered technical support, responding to and resolving service requests related to hardware, software, and enterprise applications.
- Act as a liaison between end-users and external vendors to troubleshoot and resolve complex application issues.
- Document technical solutions and create knowledge base articles to streamline issue resolution for recurring incidents.
- Support the deployment and maintenance of company-specific applications, ensuring smooth operations and timely updates.
What matters in this role -
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years of experience in IT support, system administration, or related fields. Proficiency in managing and administrate active directory and office tools.
- Solid troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and networking environments. Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to support both technical and non-technical users.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, IT Support Google Certificate, or Apple Certified Mac Technician (ACMT) are a plus. (Something domain setting knowledge, CCNA).
- Experience with enterprise network management tools (e.g., Meraki, FortiClient).
- Knowledge of endpoint detection and response (EDR) tools, such as Trend Micro.
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies and cloud-based infrastructure.
- Basic understanding of fraud detection/prevention practices.
