The Role

As an InfraOps Analyst (Compute & Storage) , you are the first line of defense for our infrastructure. You will monitor the health of our hybrid environment—spanning on-premise servers, virtual machines, and cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure) and ensure that systems are running smoothly. You will perform basic troubleshooting, gather critical information for senior engineers, and execute essential maintenance tasks like patch management. This role is the foundation of our Infrastructure team, offering broad exposure to modern infrastructure technologies and a clear path to growing into an engineering role.

Shift expectations:

  • Work a rotating schedule 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
  • Shifts may include nights, weekends, and public holidays
  • Hand off critical context to incoming shift analysts using standardized shift logs
  • Maintain alertness and quality of analysis regardless of time of day

Key Responsibilities

1. Infrastructure Monitoring

  • Monitor the health and performance of on-premise servers, virtual machines (VMware/Hyper-V), and cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure)
  • Respond to alerts from monitoring tools, assess severity, and take initial action
  • Escalate critical issues to L1+/L2 InfraOps Engineers with clear documentation of findings

2. First-Level Troubleshooting & Support

  • Perform basic troubleshooting for server and storage issues (connectivity, performance, resource utilization)
  • Gather logs, error messages, and relevant system information for escalation
  • Assist senior engineers with incident response and data collection

3. Patch Management

  • Execute weekly and monthly patch management tasks following established procedures
  • Ensure servers and systems are up to date with security patches and firmware updates
  • Document patch status and report completion to infrastructure leadership

4. Cloud Infrastructure Support

  • Monitor cloud resources (AWS EC2, S3, Azure VMs) for performance and cost anomalies
  • Perform basic cloud troubleshooting under guidance from senior engineers
  • Assist with cloud resource provisioning following standard templates

5. Documentation & Knowledge Management

  • Maintain accurate records of incidents, changes, and maintenance activities
  • Contribute to runbooks and knowledge base articles for common issues
  • Document troubleshooting steps and resolutions for future reference

6. Collaboration & Escalation

  • Work closely with L1+/L2 InfraOps Engineers to ensure smooth handoff of escalated issues
  • Communicate clearly with team members about system status and ongoing tasks
  • Participate in team meetings and knowledge-sharing sessions
