About the Job

The individual will provide technical leadership within the Infrastructure Delivery function at Great Eastern. The Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, administration, and support of core enterprise services that underpin the organization's IT environment. This includes DNS, DHCP, NTP, internal Certificate Authority, Active Directory, and Syslog services. The role ensures these services are secure, highly available, compliant, and resilient, supporting critical business operations while safeguarding the organization against outages, cyber threats, and operational risks.

The role also plays a key part in disaster recovery, continuity planning, and resilience assurance, supporting governance, regulatory compliance, and organizational readiness to respond effectively to incidents and disruptions.

The Job

  • Administer and maintain DNS, DHCP, NTP, internal CA/PKI, AD, and Syslog systems.
  • Monitor availability, capacity, and performance of shared infrastructure services, ensuring adherence to SLAs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve incidents, service requests, and escalations.
  • Design and implement upgrades, patches, and enhancements to shared infrastructure services.
  • Contribute to service automation, standardization, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Integrate shared infrastructure services with cloud, hybrid, and security platforms, ensuring secure and resilient end-to-end service delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies, audit requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Manage configurations of shared infrastructure services securely to prevent vulnerabilities.
  • Support certificate lifecycle management and security practices.
  • Work closely with technology tower leads (e.g., Compute, Network, Backup, Storage) to recommend design improvements and resilience enhancements.
  • Support infrastructure projects that depend on infrastructure core services availability and reliability.
  • Document architectures, procedures, and operational runbooks.

We are looking for people who

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science / IT, or diploma in a relevant field.
  • Strong expertise in IT infrastructure domains (compute, storage, backup, network, middleware, cloud).
  • More than 8 years of IT experience, with at least 5 years in resilience, architecture, operations, or infrastructure assurance roles.
  • Solid understanding of resilience principles such as redundancy, high availability, failover, disaster recovery, and backup strategies.
  • Ability to assess complex architectures and recommend resilience improvements.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills to influence technology teams and project managers.
  • Proven track record of leading resilience or high-availability improvement initiatives.
  • Experience collaborating across multiple technology towers and project delivery teams.
  • Strong technical expertise in: Microsoft Active Directory (user/group management, GPO, domain controllers).
  • DNS & DHCP administration (Microsoft DNS, Infoblox, or equivalent).
  • NTP configuration and synchronization best practices.
  • PKI/Internal Certificate Authority (certificate lifecycle, CRL, OCSP, key management).
  • Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, firewalls, routing).
  • Security principles (authentication, encryption, TLS, certificate validation).
  • Knowledge of scripting and automation (PowerShell, Python, or Ansible) will be an advantage.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Core Infrastructure & Microsoft Windows related certifications are preferred.
