Infrastructure Solution Architect

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Azure Infrastructure & Migration Architect to lead and deliver large‑scale on‑premises to Azure cloud migration initiatives for enterprise customers. This role focuses on Azure infrastructure strategy, migration design, landing zone architecture, and solution governance, ensuring secure, scalable, and cost‑effective cloud adoption.

The ideal candidate will have deep hands‑on expertise with Azure Migrate, Azure Networking, Azure SQL (IaaS/PaaS), Azure Storage, Azure Key Vault, Identity, and DevOps, along with strong stakeholder engagement and solutioning capabilities across regulated industries.

Key Responsibilities

Azure Architecture & Migration Solutioning

• Lead on‑premises and public cloud infrastructure assessments using Azure Migrate
• Drive Azure solutioning for large, complex migration programs, covering business, application, and infrastructure layers
• Design and build Azure Landing Zones, aligned with enterprise architecture and governance standards
• Define Azure target architectures, including HLDs and LLDs, covering all required Azure services
• Provide Bill of Materials (BoM), pricing models, and licensing guidance for Azure target solutions

Migration & Implementation

• Lead migration of on‑premises workloads to Azure using Azure Migrate and cloud‑native tooling
• Provide hands‑on leadership during Azure cloud migration execution
• Troubleshoot complex Azure and Windows infrastructure issues, including CPU, memory, I/O, networking, and clustering
• Support storage design, capacity planning, and performance optimization
• Design and implement business continuity and disaster recovery (BCDR) solutions

Infrastructure, Security & Governance

• Design and implement Azure networking, identity, governance, and monitoring solutions
• Architect solutions using Azure SQL (IaaS & PaaS), Azure Storage, Azure Key Vault, and identity services
• Ensure solutions comply with security, governance, and compliance frameworks
• Integrate monitoring and operational visibility across Azure environments

Automation & DevOps

• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, including scripting, execution, and troubleshooting
• Support Azure DevOps usage including pipeline invocation and automation workflows
• Develop and troubleshoot PowerShell scripts for deployment and operations
• Good working knowledge of Puppet (secondary skill)

Stakeholder & Client Engagement

• Work closely with internal teams, customers, and project managers to understand migration requirements
• Act as a trusted technical advisor across industry domains such as banking, healthcare, and insurance
• Prepare and deliver solution presentations to stakeholders and customer leadership
• Ensure solutions demonstrate value for money and align with long‑term cloud strategy

Required Skills & Experience

Experience

• 13+ years of overall IT experience
• 5+ years of hands‑on experience with Azure infrastructure and cloud migrations
• Strong experience across Azure Migrate, Azure Networking, Azure SQL (IaaS/PaaS), Azure Storage, Azure Key Vault, Azure IAM, and Azure DevOps
• Proven experience delivering enterprise‑scale Azure migration programs

Primary Technical Skills

• Azure infrastructure assessment and migration using Azure Migrate
• Azure Landing Zone architecture and target state design
• Troubleshooting Azure and Windows infrastructure environments
• Terraform scripting and automation
• Hands‑on Azure cloud migration experience

Secondary / Nice‑to‑Have Skills

• PowerShell scripting and troubleshooting
• Azure DevOps pipelines and automation
• Puppet configuration management
• Designing identity, governance, monitoring, and DR solutions
• Experience with RiverMeadow (good to have)

Certifications (Good to Have)

• AZ‑305 – Designing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions
• AZ‑104 – Microsoft Azure Administrator

Education
