Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and monitor M&E installation works including electrical, ACMV/HVAC, fire protection, plumbing & sanitary, and ELV systems (CCTV, access control, PA system, structured cabling).
  • Ensure all works comply with approved drawings, specifications, and design intent.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality workmanship and adherence to QA/QC standards.
  • Coordinate closely with consultants (M&E, C&S, Architect) and main contractors on site issues, technical clarifications, and design coordination.
  • Review shop drawings, method statements, and material submissions prior to installation.
  • Witness and verify Testing & Commissioning (T&C) of all M&E systems.
  • Ensure compliance with authority requirements including Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST), BOMBA, Indah Water Konsortium (IWK), and local authority (PBT).
  • Review T&C reports, O&M manuals, as-built drawings, and handover documentation.
  • Monitor M&E progress against project schedule and highlight delays, risks, and site issues.
  • Prepare daily/weekly site reports, progress updates, and NCR reports.
  • Track and ensure closure of non-conformance reports (NCR) in a timely manner.
  • Assist in pre-handover inspections, snagging works, and system readiness checks.
  • Manage defect liability period (DLP) issues and ensure timely rectification by contractors.
  • Ensure smooth handover of fully functional M&E systems with complete documentation.

Requirements:

  • Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Building Services Engineering.
  • Minimum 5–10 years of M&E site supervision / inspection experience.
  • Must have strong experience in high-rise building projects (mandatory).
  • Strong knowledge of building services systems (ACMV, electrical, fire protection, plumbing & sanitary, ELV systems).
  • Familiar with Testing & Commissioning procedures and authority requirements (UBBL, ST, BOMBA, PBT).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical and coordination drawings.
  • Strong QA/QC mindset with attention to detail.
  • Good coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
