Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role located in Nilai for an Instructional Designer. The Instructional Designer supports MILA University's Teaching and Learning initiatives by designing and developing high-quality Open and Distance Learning (ODL) courses and Self-Instructional Materials (SIM) to enhance the overall learning experience. This role combines instructional design, administrative coordination, and technical support to ensure effective course delivery aligned with institutional standards. The incumbent will report directly to the Manager, Centre for Digital Learning.

Key Responsibilities

1. Learning Framework & Student Support

• Set and enhance the Framework and Standards for Open and Distance Learning Courses.
• Guide students on the requirements of Open and Distance Learning.

2. Collaboration & Content Development

• Collaborate with academic staff to design and create effective learning materials and activities.
• Recommend and support academic staff on utilizing multimedia tools to enhance learning materials.

3. Administrative Support

• Provide administrative support to the Manager, Centre for Digital Learning
• Any other task as assigned by the Head

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in Instructional Design/E-Learning Technologies/Multimedia/Information Technology/Computer Science with at least two (2) years of experience in higher education. Candidates with a diploma and have at least three (3) years of relevant experience will be considered.
• Experience in using LMS and other digital authoring tools (Articulate 360, H5P, Genially, Vyond), education tools and systems.
• Have intermediate skills in using MSOffice (Word and Excel) and preferably have experience in educational systems.
• Skills in multimedia software are preferred.
• Proficient in written and spoken English.
