Job Description

THE ROLE

This role owns the functional foundations of how data moves and is defined across Atlantic Gate. You will decide what the data means, which system is the source of truth, what each interface has to achieve for the business, and how quality is maintained over time. The technical build sits with the central integration and middleware delivery team. Your accountability is the business logic, the data ownership model and the outcome.

This is a business-facing design and governance role. You will work with operations, finance and commercial teams to agree definitions and rules, specify the interfaces that support them, and make sure the integration layer belongs to Atlantic Gate rather than to any vendor.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own master data as a business asset, including definitions, ownership, stewardship, data quality rules and the processes that keep records clean across TMS, ERP and CRM.
  • Set the functional design of the interfaces between transport, finance, commercial and partner systems, defining what data flows, when, in which direction and under which business rules.
  • Run data governance with the business, including a stewardship model, decision forums, escalation of data disputes and measurable quality targets.
  • Gather and prioritize integration and master data demand from operations, finance and commercial, and turn it into a clear, funded backlog.
  • Steer the Group integration delivery team through clear specifications, acceptance criteria and functional testing, without owning the technical build.
  • Keep integration ownership with Atlantic Gate and make sure no interface is locked to a single TMS or application vendor.
  • Work with carriers, agents and customers on the business side of EDI and API onboarding, from data requirements to testing and go-live.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Strong business analysis or functional design background in a multi-system environment, with the ability to specify interfaces clearly enough for a technical team to build them.
  • A track record owning master data and data governance, including definitions, stewardship, quality measurement and remediation with business teams.
  • A working understanding of EDI and API patterns, sufficient to make sound design choices and challenge proposals, without needing to build them yourself.
  • Logistics or supply chain background, so you know what the data practically represents in the operation.
  • The seniority to steer a development team through specifications and priorities, and to hold vendors and partners to what was agreed.
  • Confident stakeholder management across operations, finance and commercial, including the ability to settle disagreements about who owns which data.
  • Fluent English and Mandarin given the team footprint.

DESIRABLE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience setting up a master data or data governance function from scratch.
  • Involvement in an integration programme or middleware platform rollout from a functional or business ownership position.
  • Exposure to customer and carrier onboarding, partner data exchange or process harmonization across countries.

EDUCATION

  • Degree in business, engineering, information systems, supply chain or a related field, or equivalent experience gained in the role.
  • Certification in business analysis, data management or product ownership is an advantage.

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE

  • Business-minded, precise and able to keep integration and data ownership inside the company.
  • Comfortable working with operations, finance and commercial stakeholders to agree definitions and rules that stick.
  • Persistent about data quality, interface standards and long-term maintainability.
