Job Description

This job is an internship for Business & Logistics students. You would learn from our senior experts and work in CTG (Cartage) Department role as Ocean Freight Transport Planner. You might like this job because it offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various areas of the department and learn from experienced professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Shipment Planning & Coordination
    • Assist in planning and booking ocean freight shipments (FCL/LCL).
    • Support vendor selection and date planning based on Job Operator instruction.
    • Help monitor shipment progress and update Milestone status in CW1 thru ESP app.
  • Operations Support
    • Prepare and verify shipping documents (e.g., CW1 Cartage Advise, Carrier Booking Confirmations, Carrier CRO, Coloader Shipping Note, Packing List, K1/COR port system tracing).
    • Coordinate with shipping lines, truckers, hauliers, warehouses
    • Assist in resolving and updates Job Operator on basic operational issues such as delays, rollovers, or pickup or delivery discrepancies.
  • Data & System Management
    • Update shipment data accurately in CW1 Cartage Advise/Transport Booking
    • Maintain records, reports, and filing in compliance with company procedures.
    • Support KPI tracking (e.g., on-time truck departures, transit times).
  • Customer & Internal Communication
    • Assist in responding to customer inquiries related to shipment status ONLY
    • Communicate with internal stakeholders such as customer service, sales, and finance teams.
    • Escalate issues to supervisors when required.
  • Compliance & Quality
    • Support adherence to international trade regulations and company policies.
    • Assist in ensuring accurate documentation for customs and compliance purposes.
    • Participate in process improvement initiatives where applicable.

To be successful in this internship, these are the requirements:

  • Diploma and/or Degree in Logistics, Transportation, and/or Business Studies with minor in logistics and supply chain. Intake for June 2026 onwards.
  • It will be added advantage if you have previous experience dealing with customers.
  • Being able to write and speak professionally in English.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office (especially Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook).
  • This internship location is at Iskandar Puteri, Johor.
