Job Description

Key Responsibilities

The Industry Relations Department requires an intern to support its expanding portfolio of stakeholder engagement, industry analysis, and project coordination activities. By providing practical experience in communications, research, and event management, the internship not onl enhances the intern's professional development but also strengthens the department's capacity to deliver high-quality outcomes. This directly contributes to the Commission's mission of fostering effective industry relations, promoting sector growth, and ensuring regulatory excellence for the benefit of Malaysia's communications and multimedia ecosystem.

  1. Stakeholder Engagement Support: Assist in organising and coordinating stakeholder engagement sessions, courtesy visits, and industry workshops. Help prepare invitations, participant lists, and event materials;
  2. Industry Research & Analysis: Conduct research on telecommunications, postal, courier, and broadcast sectors. Compile data, summarise industry news, and contribute to the preparation of analysis reports;
  3. Administrative Assistance: Support day-to-day administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings, preparing minutes, managing correspondence, and maintaining departmental records;
  4. Communications & Documentation: Draft and refine emails, memos, meeting notes, and presentations in British English for internal and external stakeholders. Ensure all communication materials are clear, professional, and accurate;
  5. Project Coordination: Assist with the planning and execution of departmental projects, including budgeting, procurement, and progress tracking. Help compare quotations, prepare justifications, and monitor timelines;
  6. Data Management: Collect, organise, and update information relevant to departmental activities, including stakeholder databases and project trackers; and
  7. Team Collaboration: Work closely with team members to support ongoing initiatives and contribute ideas for process improvement

Qualifications/Courses/Studies Background

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Business Administration, Marketing, Media Studies, International Relations, Political Science, Management or a related discipline with a minimum CGPA of 3.2/4.0;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, preferably in English;
  • Interest in the telecommunications, postal, courier, or broadcast sectors;
  • Experience or coursework in event management, research, or data analysis is an advantage; and
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and digital collaboration tools
