You will organize and conduct experimental work. You will assist chemist on conclusions from the work and contribute to the development of new or improved product formulations. You will provide technical support for new and existing products, guided by your supervisor. Logically organize a series of tasks to complete assigned experiment. You will record experimental output in a condensed, tabulated or graphic form to communicate results and trends.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize, carry out and draw conclusions from lab experiments following discussion with supervisors.
- Ensure all experimental work is recorded in appropriate lab notebooks, databases and project reports.
- Work safely, following all lab procedures and contribute to the maintenance of high safety standards.
- Provide technical support (guided by supervisor) to other departments especially sales and production.
- To support ideas for lab work involving new product development, existing product improvement, formula cost reduction, processes and procedural improvement.
- Keep lab supplied, keeps basic equipment functioning and certifiably calibrated.
- Understand and practice EHS processes relevant to the job in the working environment.
- Follow direction and execute assigned experimentation with some involvement from supervisor, discuss work with supervisor daily.
Qualifications
- Graduate with Diploma/Honours Degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline.
- Good communication skills
