We are seeking a Procurement-Vendor Due Diligence intern to join our team. The Vendor Due Diligence (VDD) Intern will provide essential support to the VDD team in conducting financial assessments, AML/CFT screenings, and background checks on bank vendors. This role offers hands-on experience in risk management, helping ensure that business units make informed decisions during vendor onboarding and annual assessments.

The successful candidate will report to the Procurement-Vendor Due Diligence Manager.

Functional (Job Responsibilities)

  • Assist in conducting due diligence reviews for new and existing vendors by extracting reports related to Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Counter Financing of Terrorism (CFT), and Targeted Financial Sanctions.
  • Help perform background checks regarding insolvency, connected/related parties, and Ultimate Beneficial Ownership (UBO) using tools like Experian.
  • Assist in the orderly collation of vendor details and supporting documents for review by the VDD Approver.
  • Support communication with business units, compliance teams, and vendor managers to obtain necessary documentation for assessments.
  • Execute daily tasks such as compiling details required for the approval of due diligence deviations and maintaining organized digital files.
  • Support the team in data compilation and verification to identify potential risks within the vendor supply chain.

Education/Qualification

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Law, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

Experience/Requirements

  • 6 months internship duration is preferred.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel (data sorting) and PowerPoint.
  • A strong interest in or basic understanding of regulatory requirements relating to money laundering and terrorism financing.
  • Working proficiency in English and Malay (written and spoken).
  • High level of integrity, concern for order and accuracy, and the ability to work diligently on assigned tasks.
