Job Description

Key Responsibilities

The internship programme provides a structured opportunity for the intern to gain practical exposure to international regulatory cooperation, multilateral engagement, and global ICT governance, particularly within the ITU and APT frameworks. The intern will develop competencies in research, stakeholder coordination, international event management, reporting, and professional communication in a multilateral environment. From an organisational perspective, the internship supports MCMC's mission by strengthening institutional capacity to deliver international commitments, enhance Malaysia's global standing, and support strategic objectives such as ITU Council re-election, regional leadership, and capacity-building initiatives. The programme also contributes to MCMC's broader objective of developing future talent with international exposure, ensuring sustainability of expertise in international affairs and regulatory cooperation.

  1. Assist in coordinating international and regional engagements related to ITU, APT, and ASEAN, including meetings, conferences, and official events;
  2. Support preparatory work for Malaysia's ITU Council re-election campaign, including background research, briefing materials, and tracking of engagements;
  3. Assist in the organisation and coordination of major events, including APT PP 2026, International Regulatory Conference (IRC), and Network of Women Leaders events;
  4. Support documentation, monitoring, and reporting of MCMC's six (6) ITU Partner2Connect (P2C) pledges, including data compilation and progress tracking;
  5. Provide administrative and coordination support for the Digital Transformation Centre (DTC) collaboration with ITU; and
  6. Support general administrative tasks related to international cooperation, including correspondence, databases, and coordination with internal divisions and external partners.

Qualifications/Courses/Studies Background

  • Currently pursuing a Degree in International Relations / International Studies, Public Policy / Public Administration, Political Science, Economics (with international or development focus), Communications / Media Studies (with policy or governance interest), Law (public/international law) or a related field with a minimum CGPA of 3.2/4.0;
  • Basic knowledge of content creation, social media platforms, and digital communication tools
  • Familiarity with graphic design, video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Canva, CapCut), or photography is an added advantage
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in both Bahasa Malaysia and English
  • Creative, detail-oriented, and able to work independently or as part of a team
