About the Internship
At YTL AI Labs, we build AI-native tools and systems that power how our organisation works — and interns here work alongside the teams building them.
Depending on where you're placed and what's in motion, you might contribute to a real internal product, test and refine our AI products, explore a new AI capability, or help a team think through how AI can improve what they already do. The work is real. The impact is real. The direction will take shape as you go.
What You'll Do
The specifics depend on the team you join and what's underway, but broadly you can expect to:
- Contribute to live internal projects — This could mean working on an actual system being used by the organisation, not a sandboxed training exercise. Depending on the team, you might build agents that automate workflows, contribute to reusable AI skills that power multiple systems, or work on meta-tooling that makes everyone around you more effective.
- Test and evaluate real AI products — You may get hands-on with YTL AI Labs own consumer and enterprise AI products, helping to identify gaps, surface edge cases, and contribute to making them better.
- Experiment with AI tools and approaches — Test models, APIs, and workflows; bring in what you've learned and apply it to real problems.
- Participate in structured knowledge-sharing — You'll join a regular knowledge-sharing session with a small cross-functional project team to share what you're exploring, learn from what others are building, and contribute to a culture where AI knowledge moves freely across the organisation.
- Ask good questions — Part of your value is a fresh perspective; noticing what seems inefficient, broken, or improvable is genuinely useful here.
Who We're Looking For
This role suits someone who:
- Is a self-starter who doesn't wait to be told what to do next
- Gets curious about how things work and isn't afraid to figure it out along the way
- Can pick up new tools quickly — especially AI ones — regardless of prior experience
- Communicates clearly and can explain what they're doing and why to anyone in the room
- Is comfortable with ambiguity — you won't always have a full spec, and that's intentional
- Bonus: you've already tinkered with an AI tool, built something small, or gone down a rabbit hole just because you wanted to understand it
- Whether you're from computer science, marketing, business, design, or something else entirely — if you're sharp, willing to try, and genuinely excited about AI, we want to hear from you.
