The Internal Audit Manager will report to the Asia Pacific (APAC) Internal Audit Director. You will participate and/or lead operational, strategic, and financial audits and consulting projects. You will be responsible in the delivery of the APAC Internal Audit annual plan. In this role, you will be the point of contact and knowledge partner for APAC Service & Finance (S&F) stakeholders to further drive governance and the risk agenda. You will work closely with the other Internal Audit Managers to execute audits and will keep the Audit Senior Manager informed of progress and issues as necessary. As a trusted advisor, you will partner with stakeholders to provide meaningful process improvements while maintaining objectivity and integrity.
Responsibilities
- Identifies and evaluates the organization's audit and emerging risk areas and provides key input to the development of the risk-based annual internal audit plan.
- Designs and performs audit procedures, focusing on the business (financial, operational and compliance) risks and including designing audit procedures to cover control objective, possible risks and implications, identifying and defining issues, developing criteria, reviewing and analysing evidence, and documenting client processes and procedures.
- Conducts interviews, reviews documents, develops and administers surveys, composes summary memos, and prepares working papers.
- Identifies, develops, and documents audit issues and recommendations for improvement by giving solutions using independent judgment concerning areas being audited.
- Communicates or assists in communicating the results of audit and consulting projects via written reports and oral presentations on a timely basis to Unit, Corporate and Segment Management.
- Lead regional and global initiatives to drive governance & control standards on emerging risk areas.
- Able to act as control expert on business needs and drive control insights.
- Develops and maintains productive team-oriented client and staff relationships through individual contacts and group meetings.
- Pursues professional development opportunities, including external and internal training and professional association memberships, and shares information gained with co-workers.
- Represents internal auditing on organizational project teams, at management meetings, and with external organizations.
- Provides or assists in providing training, coaching, and guidance to S&F staffs or other process control owners to enhance governance & control environment within a FMCG industry.
- Performs related work as assigned by Regional IA Director
Job Specifications/Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in finance/accounting or a similar field and preferably possession or working towards a CPA, CIA, or CFE certificate
- Minimum 5 years audit experience.
- Experience with a Big 4 accounting firm and/or MNC internal audit department is a plus. Experience with auditing consumer packaged goods or other manufacturing companies is desirable.
- Knowledge of Business Standards and Code of Ethics.
- Strong functional skills on contemporary risk management, control techniques and frameworks.
- Excellent analytical skills, in collecting and analysing complex data, evaluating information and systems, and drawing logical conclusions and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written communications, including active listening skills, conflict management and skill in presenting findings and recommendations for improvement to managers at each location, as well as other senior managers.
- Strong PC and data analysis skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Power BI
- Ability to travel to up to 50% to domestic and/or international locations.
- US GAAP and/or SOX compliance experience is highly preferred.
