Accountabilities/Duties
This internship blends hands-on internal communications delivery with curated strategic exposure to the GFS APAC Leadership Team (LT). You will:
- Plan and deliver internal communications for moments that matter across the APAC hub (e.g., business updates & milestones, employee's recognitions, wellbeing & sustainability initiatives, cultural celebrations & etc.).
- Draft and edit communications for internal channels (email, intranet, Viva Engage/Yammer, townhall scripts) using AstraZeneca's visual and verbal identity.
- Create clear, engaging, on-brand slides, e-flyers, and social posts for internal channels; capture photos/short videos and produce concise event recaps.
- Coordinate content calendars, stakeholder reviews, and publishing timelines to ensure consistent, timely communication.
- Shadow select LT forums and curated business meetings for learning exposure; synthesize key takeaways into internal narratives while respecting confidentiality.
- Facilitate light reverse mentoring moments for leaders (e.g., monthly 45-minute trend briefings on digital, Gen AI for comms, APAC cultural insights).
- Track engagement and sentiment; build simple dashboards and recommend experiments to improve reach and relevance.
- Partner with Employer Brand/Corporate Affairs and site comms to align guidance and amplify GFS stories where relevant.
Essential for the role
- Good interpersonal skills to interact with all levels of employees in creating communication content like interviews.
- Strong writing and editing skills in English; ability to tailor tone for different audiences and channels.
- Proficiency with presentation and lightweight design tools and familiarity with internal social best practices.
- Organized, detail-oriented, able to organize events and work with multiple deadlines.
- Curiosity and creativity; able to translate complex topics and events into concise, compelling content.
- Eligibility to intern in KL, Malaysia; available full-time for 6 months (flexibility 3–12 months if needed).
Desirable for the role
- Experience in internal communications, students media/marketing, or community organizing.
- Experience in photo/video capture, video crafting, interviews and editing skills (smartphone + lightweight tools).
- Familiarity with engagement analytics (post metrics, survey insights) and simple reporting.
- Study areas including Mass Communication, and Multimedia fields are preferred.
- Skilled in Digital tools (MS Platforms) is an advantage.
