Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Business Development Manager (International) to spearhead The Golden Duck's growth across global markets. This role is ideal for a strategic, commercially minded professional with deep export experience and a proven ability to build strong international partnerships. You will play a key role in driving revenue growth, expanding distribution networks, and shaping our brand's global presence all while ensuring operational excellence and compliance in every market we enter.

Key ResponsibilitiesInternational Business Development

Identify, evaluate, and prioritise new market opportunities across target regions.

Research and engage potential clients, distributors, and retail partners globally.

Develop and execute go-to-market strategies to acquire new customers and drive brand expansion.

Prepare compelling proposals, presentations, and pricing strategies for international prospects.

Conduct ongoing market analysis to track trends, competitor activity, and emerging growth opportunities.

Represent The Golden Duck at trade shows, exhibitions, and international networking events.

Client Relationship Management

Act as the primary contact for global clients, distributors, and key accounts.

Build and sustain long-term partnerships with a focus on trust, performance, and mutual growth.

Conduct regular business reviews and visits to strengthen client relationships and uncover new opportunities.

Resolve client issues promptly and coordinate with internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction.

Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing agreements aligned with company objectives.

Export Operations & Logistics

Oversee end-to-end export operations including documentation, compliance, and logistics.

Ensure adherence to international trade regulations, customs requirements, and food safety standards.

Work with operations team for efficient delivery.

Manage export documentation such as invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin.

Monitor trade policies, tariffs, and regulations impacting our export markets.

Handle letters of credit, payment terms, and foreign exchange considerations.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with Production to align on client order specifications and timelines.

Coordinate with Supply Chain for inventory planning and delivery scheduling.

Work closely with Quality Assurance to ensure all exports meet product and regulatory standards.

Collaborate with Finance on pricing models, credit terms, and payment collections.

Provide accurate sales forecasts and demand planning inputs for operational teams.

Foster smooth communication across departments to ensure seamless client servicing.

Performance & Reporting

Deliver on monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.

Track and analyse key performance metrics including sales pipeline, conversion rates, and revenue growth.

Prepare reports on market insights, competitive intelligence, and business development progress.

Required QualificationsEducation & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, International Business, Marketing, or a related field.

Minimum 10 years of proven experience in business development, export management, or international sales.

Demonstrated success in the FMCG or food industry, ideally in snacks or related products.

Strong track record of expanding into new international markets and managing cross-border clients.

Core Competencies

Exceptional communication skills in English and Mandarin (both verbal and written) - clarity, professionalism, and persuasive presentation are essential.

Excellent negotiation and closing abilities.

Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Relationship-driven, culturally sensitive, and adaptable to working across diverse markets.

Results-oriented with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Willingness to travel internationally as needed.
