We are seeking a Native Indonesian-speaking Translator to join our International Patient Centre. This role plays a crucial part in coordinating care and delivering a seamless, high-quality experience for patients from Indonesia.
The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a service-oriented mindset, and preferably a background in hospitality or healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Indonesian patients, ensuring smooth communication throughout their patient journey
- Provide accurate verbal and written translation between Indonesian and English (or Malay, where required)
- Coordinate patient appointments, admissions, discharge planning, and follow-ups with medical and non-medical departments
- Assist patients and their families with enquiries related to treatment plans, billing, travel, accommodation, and aftercare
- Liaise with doctors, nurses, patient services, and external partners to ensure seamless coordination of care
- Act as liaison to manage visa/permit arrangement with Immigration office
- Handle documentation, reports, and correspondence related to Indonesian patients
- Support marketing or outreach activities for the Indonesian market when required
Requirements
- Native Indonesian speaker (Bahasa Indonesia is mandatory)
- Proficient in English (spoken and written); Malay is an added advantage
- Diploma or Degree in Hospitality, Healthcare Management, Languages, or a related field is preferred
- Prior experience in hospitality, healthcare, customer service, or patient coordination is highly advantageous
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills
- Patient-focused, empathetic, and culturally sensitive
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Computer literate (MS Office, hospital systems knowledge is a plus)
- Must hold valid existing Working Pass
