Job Scope / Position Summary
The Compliance & Anti-Financial Crime (AFC) Intern will play a key supporting role in ensuring the organization's adherence to regulatory standards and internal compliance frameworks. This position offers hands-on experience across multiple facets of compliance operations, including policy review, documentation, reporting, and administrative coordination.
Main Responsibility
1. Regulatory & Policy Support
- Assist in reviewing and updating internal compliance policies and procedures.
- Support the drafting and maintenance of compliance and AFC-related documentation and reports.
2. Documentation & Record Keeping
- Organize and maintain compliance & AFC records, including Record of Processing Activities (RoPA), assessment result for Consolidated Assessment Form (CAF), training logs and audit trails.
- Assist in preparing documentation for regulatory inspections or internal reviews.
- Assist in preparing materials for paper-based reporting, including formatting and presentation coordination.
- Contribute to the development of training materials focused on anti-financial crime awareness and procedures.
3. Communication & Reporting
- Draft internal memos or summaries related to compliance activities.
- Liaise with other departments to gather information for compliance reviews.
- Assist in preparing reports for senior management or regulatory bodies.
- Manage access to the generic compliance and AFC's mailbox to help organize incoming communications and ensure timely follow-up.
4. Administrative Support
- Provide general administrative support to the compliance team.
- Help coordinate activities for Compliance Week, including logistics, communications, and engagement tracking.
Qualification and Experience Requirement
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in any fields.
- No prior full-time experience required, but the following are preferred:
- i. Previous internship or project work related to compliance, legal research, or risk assessment.
- ii. Participation in university clubs or competitions related to law, ethics, or business strategy.
- iii. Exposure to data handling, policy writing, or audit preparation through academic or volunteer work
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
