Role

The Day-To-Day Activities

DSCVM - Data Engineering Trainee

The role will involve developing and managing data ingestion processes, including Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) operations, to ensure data accuracy, accessibility, and scalability.

  • Build and maintain data pipelines to ensure seamless data flow from various sources to the storage systems
  • Manage and optimize databases to support data storage and retrieval. This involves ensuring data integrity and performance.
  • Provide technical support to data scientists and analysts by preparing and optimizing data sets for analysis.
  • Implementation of strict data policies and oversight mechanisms to ensure data security, compliance, and quality especially for PII information. Always comply to PDPA.
  • Work with different teams to understand data needs and contribute to the development of data solutions.
  • Manage the lifecycle of data in a big data platform, archiving and purging data according to defined policies
  • Documented and updated the DE team's data glossary and catalogue.

About You

  • Degree in Computer Science / IT / Electrical & Electronic / Telecommunication / Mathematics / Economics / Physics or equivalent.
  • Basic understanding of data processing and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) operations.
  • Experience in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
  • Familiarity with database technologies like SQL, NoSQL, and data warehousing solutions.
  • Exposure to big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka.
  • Knowledge of data modeling and the ability to design data schemas.
  • Understands and executes predefined campaign strategies within the Campaign Management System
  • Able to analyze & troubleshoot data issues and optimize data flows.
  • Ability to work with data scientists and analysts to support data needs.
  • Must possess team spirit, positive attitude, excellent interpersonal skills, communication and initiative to learn.
  • Minimum CGPA : 3.2
