The internship will provide practical exposure to interns on research grant administration, scholarship programme operations and event coordination within a regulatory organisation. Interns will gain hands-on experience in stakeholder engagement, data management, administrative processes, and professional communication, contributing directly to MCMC's mission of supporting research excellence and talent development.
1. Research Grants (DSRG/DSRGX) Support
• Assist in registering, screening and organising research proposals received via email.
• Support email correspondence with researchers, universities and research sponsors.
• Support the implementation of Technical Panel Evaluation Sessions, including printing materials, managing logistics and assisting floor management.
• Assist in compiling presentation slides, feedback forms, attendance records and session materials.
• Assist Desk Officers in basic project monitoring tasks such as tracking progress and compiling documents.
2. Scholarship Programme Support
• Assist with application management, documentation and tracking for the Scholarship Programme.
• Support enquiries from scholars and applicants via email or telephone.
• Assist in preparing files, printing documents and handling administrative tasks for scholarship selection and award ceremonies.
• Provide support during scholarship interviews, events and engagement sessions.
3. Events & Programme Coordination
• Assist in preparing contact lists, sending invitations and managing participant registration.
• Support event logistics (venue readiness, equipment checks, materials preparation).
• Assist in designing posters, visuals and simple communication materials for events or programme announcements.
• Assist with coordination for sessions such as Research Symposium, Communicate@MCMC, and other departmental programmes.
• Support post-event tasks such as attendance compilation and materials distribution.
4. General Administrative Support
• Assist in maintaining accurate databases, shared folders and SharePoint.
• Support finance and procurement-related administrative processes.
• Assist in printing, filing and maintaining department records.
• Perform any other administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Courses/Studies Background
• Currently pursuing a Degree in Communications / Corporate Communication or Business Administration / Management or Social Sciences or Public Policy / Public Administration or Information Systems / Data Management or Graphic Design / Media Studies / Multimedia or in any related field with a minimum CGPA of 3.20/4.00 from a recognised university;
• Strong organisational and coordination skills, resourceful with the ability to manage multiple tasks and timelines
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia
• Proficient in MS 365, particularly Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
• Comfortable working with documentation, trackers, and structured records
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work with multiple stakeholders across units
