Position Objective:
- Responsible for Investment Back Office operations, including trade processing, independent verification, confirmation of investment transactions and corporate actions, custodial controls, and income monitoring.
- Ensure all activities are performed in a timely, complete, and accurate manner to support operational efficiency and effective risk management of the investment portfolio.
- Actively participate in ad-hoc investment-related projects.
- Report, investigate, and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1) Trade Related
- Update all investment transactions, verify against broker confirmations, and process settlements, prices, and valuations daily in the investment system.
- Handle corporate announcements from custodians, ensuring timely and accurate processing of corporate actions to protect AIA's interests.
- Monitor subscriptions, settlements, and redemptions of offshore investments, including rebates, capital calls, and distributions.
- Work closely with AIA Group Investment Operations for foreign investment support.
- Create new securities for Bonds and Equities in FAM and Bloomberg AIM.
2) Cash Management and Settlement
- Prepare accurate daily cash flow reports for all investment bank accounts to ensure adequate funding for transactions.
- Monitor NAV uploads for T+1 funds and cash blotters for Life, ILP, APTB, MAPF, PRS, and others in Bloomberg AIM.
3) Fair Valuation and Price Checking
- Ensure daily updates and documentation of fair valuations from Bloomberg, BPAM, etc., supporting NAV calculations and IFRS month-end valuations.
4) Reconciliation and Reporting
- Verify custody charges for AIA, APTB, APAM, and others before payment.
- Reconcile rebate income receipts against supporting documents and report discrepancies promptly.
- Perform daily/monthly reconciliation of investment holdings against custodial statements and resolve discrepancies.
5) Accounts Administration
- Assist with account openings, application forms, board resolutions, and submission of KYC documents, FATCA onboarding, and specimen signatures.
- Coordinate account openings with brokers, financial institutions, and offshore investments.
6) Investment System Access/Maintenance
- Maintain static data according to policies and standards.
- Perform UAT for system enhancements or issue resolutions.
7) Others
- Participate in investment operations projects.
- Update and document operational policies and procedures for back-office processes.
- Continuously improve workflows and processes.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Education: Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management, Statistics, or Mathematics.
- Experience: 1–2 years in investment back office operations within insurance or asset management.
- Skills: Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Bloomberg AIM.
